Those of you who think you just can't be happy unless you have material possessions, realize you are mistaken. I've seen people in sad situations, desperate for a sense of happiness, convinced they would be happier if they owned a fortune. And what about those of us with money but unhappy? The fact is, we all want something to be more successful or feel better about our circumstances.
You see, most people will not ever find the happiness they are longing for because they are too focused on the negative things around them. Are you constantly thinking about the things you don't like about your situation? And are you finding yourself resenting and hating the things you have? If so, there is no way you could ever find true happiness. You can be happy if you're just looking in the right places!
Instead of always wanting something else, you should focus on what you do have instead. What's it going to take for you to achieve the level of success you desire? Are you willing to put forth the effort required to make it happen? If not, then it's time to start searching for someone who can fulfill your dreams.
It took me a lot of years to finally figure out that most of my unhappiness was because I was stopping myself from happiness. What I realized over time was that all the things I wanted in my life, didn't magically appear out of thin air. There were no magic pills I could take and instantly become successful. No matter what I wanted to accomplish, I had to get past the roadblocks that were standing in my way. Once I was able to do this, everything started to go better.
If you are wondering if there is anything you can do to be happier without wanting something else, the answer is yes. It's called taking action. If you are thinking, wanting, or are acting on that desire but are not taking any action, then you are making the decision to wait. Waiting makes us feel like we don't have control or the power to change anything, so instead we wait to see what will happen.
Here's the bottom line: you can be happy without wanting something else. When you are able to stop yourself from thinking about it, writing it down, or even imagining it, then you will find that you have control over your own happiness. You will realize that you truly have the power to make someone else happy by taking action on your own. Once you become a master at controlling your thoughts and actions, you will be able to make anyone else feel truly happy.
