Something small yet big

in life •  7 years ago  (edited)

Some friends are idea boosters.

So I wanted to design something on a cardboard then stay on the highway for passers by to read and get inspired.

But after much battle with my mind, I decided I will do it and make it nice.

Got some cardboards, went to my friend's house, where it was designed.
I met two other fellows in my friend's room that day,

One told me that i shouldn't do it, it would make me look weird, besides since am doing it close to the university what if my colleagues see me on the road.

Well I thought of that, but it doesn't matter, let's just do it I replied.

Then one said he would do it with me, he loved the idea.
So we teamed up.

Early the next morning we went out in a rush as we woke up behind time, with the aim to get to the market cite or an open junction where we would stand to show ourselves.

I stood on one side of the road while he stood on the other side.

With words of prayers from my heart to whoever reads it.
When we were done, we decided to share our experiences

We didn't take pictures till when we were done

Experience

I saw a colleague of mine who passed, saw what I was holding "miracles happen when you believe " she said I do believe,
And I nodded with a smile.
My neighbor saw me and thought I was begging for money, that was harsh mehn!

Some people stopped to read what was written on it and you could tell, it gave them some sort of relieved from their facial expressions.

One particular man in a car 🚗 stopped, whined down, and said I believe thank you.

Oh! What joy I felt, to give people a boost from all the challenges of life.

I asked my friend about his experience he said likewise,

but one particular young girl as he called her, probably of 5yrs old in her school uniform walking with her mom, saw him and brought out 20naira to give to him,

he said he looked at her and told her she should keep the money with smile on his face.
What was written on his cardboard was "God's not dead " I don't know what was in the young lady's mind, but I was pretty sure those words touched her.

This was early last year.
The good news that smoothen my heart was when I saw other people in my fellowship in school do the same thing, this time bigger and better than I did.
Woah! Something that looked small when it started grew to be this amazing.

Then I thought, what if I had not taken that bold step?
What if I had listened to those negative voices?
Well glad I didn't.
