It was happened while he was promoting his film 'Cold Pursuit' back in 2004. After that day, he still be perturbed about that feelings and lent cleared on his speech that he hopes that revealing works in order to make conscience about racism and xenophobia
“I went up and down areas with a cosh, hoping I’d be approached by somebody – I’m ashamed to say that – and I did it for maybe a week, hoping some ‘black bastard’ would come out of a pub and have a go at me about something, you know? So that I could … kill him.”.
He didn't say anything wrong. I don't wanna be seen as racism or xenophobic supporters - that is exactly the keyboard witch hunters want- but he just made a delicated confession and wanted to pull it out. I think if someone wants to stop hidding an ugly truth -because it hurts-, then it must reveal it; no matter how much there prays that a lie that makes someone happy , worth more than a painful truth.
I'm disagree about people blaming Liam as racist. If someone were sin-freed, then throw the first stone -as the Bible Prays-. Nobody -even I- has enough moralty to make an imbecile opinion. I think this moment is more unfair than Liam's words...
