Some Aerial Views of the Land From my Drone

in life •  5 years ago

Here are some early aerial pics of my property I took with a drone.

This first photo is of one corner of the property that butt's right up against the neighbors 8 or so acre plot.

Here's another shot from higher up in the air. Most of my section goes down the slope of the hill.

As you can see its pretty much woods right now with some space to camp and park the trailer for now.

There's about 40 acre's behind me that is owned by a timber company.

Here's a veiw of the woods that lead down to the lake. Lots of potential, it's going to be a long journey, but the longest one starts with the first step.

That's all for now!

Lovely that it is mostly woods with the wild abundance that it must have! Hopefully the timber companies won't be clear cutting that area behind you to keep a larger natural area especially if it is connected to the lake which could be a good watering spot for the wildlife. Looks like a beautiful area - good luck with your homesteading! --- Homesteaders Co-op A community marketplace of ethical, handmade and sustainable products available for STEEM, SBD (and USD): https://homesteaderscoop.com follow: @homesteaderscoop

looks awesome! how can you decide what to do first???

did you buy the drone or rent? sorry if you talked about that and i missed, but id love to know more about drones.

Hey @torico well....good question. First I need to clear the top part of the land enough to make it easy for me to pull the trailer through and enter/exit the property. Then I would like to get a gate/fence up for security so I can leave the trailer and make it easier to do supply runs for building materials and groceries etc...

I bought one of those phantom standard drones off a guy that had upgraded his and had too many drone lol. He was a freind of a friend I used to work with. My old co-worker knew what my vision was, and let me know about him selling the drone for a great deal.

I was able to buy the drone with extra blades, and 2 batteries with chargers for $250. If you're interested in getting one, I'd suggest looking around for deals on craigslist or ebay. There are a few listed on Ebay right now for around $250.

not sure i'd trust ebay. ive been scammed twice already on there. craiglist sounds safer because i could see it working before i bought it. right now its just on my dream list, but one day i will get one. i'd want it to have really good camera..

fencing is so expensive. would it really keep anyone out that was determined to get in? tho i suppose if you need to clear land its not the easiest. i wouldnt think there was a huge issue with theft but im so naive.. i'd just get fence my valuables in and fill the enclosed area with savage attack geese... :D

For sure, It'd be a good idea to get a short lesson from the previous pilot and try it out before you buy. I'm mainly concerned about someone hooking the trailer up to their truck and driving off. I used to trust folks more, but learned the hard way not too in this day and age. Not gonna go crazy putting up an intense fence just the gates to keep folks honest, and harder to get a truck in to take off with the trailer.
