Vine's successor will arrive soon and will be called Byte

Launched in 2013, Vine quickly became popular among Internet users. The simplicity of creating a video of that duration caught so much attention that it ended up setting a precedent for the massification of what we know today as stories.

In spite of being so acclaimed by the public, Vine was unable to recover from the various problems she was suffering. The lack of money and the few possibilities of monetizing its contents ended up taking its toll. At the time that disappeared several celebrities of the application took advantage of its popularity to succeed on platforms like YouTube.

Even so, a very large gap remained since it closed. So much so that its (former) users have been insisting its creator, Dom Hofmann, to bring it back. It seems that he complied, as Hofmann recently confirmed that Vine's successor would be called Byte.

What is it about?
People have been waiting for this announcement for some time. Just a few months ago we commented that Hoffman was in a project called "V2". This, with the colors of the previous application.

However, it was clear that the name could not be repeated because Twitter still has rights over it. Hoffman only prepared people with that name to surprise them by showing Byte.
