Queen’s birthday ( Australia)
Celebrated on the 2nd Monday in June in most states/territories, except
WA which celebrates it on a nominated day in September and Queensland in Oct.
Queen Elizabeth II is the constitutional monarch of Australia as well as 15 other sovereign states ( Antigua and Barbuda, The Bahamas, Barbados, Belize, Canada, Grenada, Jamaica, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia, Saint Vincent and The Grenadines, The Solomon Islands, Tuvalu and The United Kingdom. Whilst these countries recognise the Queen as their head of state. However they are ruled independently . Queen Elizabeth was born on 21st April 1926 and turned 92 this year.She has been Queen since 1952 and has reigned 66 years, making her the longest reigning British Monarch . The date for the Monarchy’s birthday had been always been observed until the end of King George V reign. His birthday was June 3rd. Since then Australia ( except WA and QLD ) has continued to celebrate the Monarchs birthday in early June.
