Everything that comes to you will be given to you by men because they are the hand of God. You need men to recommend you and help you attain heights. Never forget! Don't be unthankful to those who have helped you at one time or the other. Forgetfulness makes people ungrateful and your ingratitude could discourage your benefactor from helping other people in the future. It is a character deficiency to only remember people when you need them. Don't use people and dump them! Take a trip down memory lane and remember people who contributed to making you who you are today. Don't be an opportunist!
Bad things happen to forgetful people; i.e conspiracies will more often than not, work against someone who is forgetful. The story of King Joash, in the bible buttresses this perfectly. Read 2 Chronicles 22:10 to 2 Chronicles 24: 26 for the full story. King Joash was greatly helped by Jehoiada the priest. In fact he was crowned king at age 7 by Jehoiada and he was doing really great until after Jehoiada died. King Joash forgot all about his help and ended up killing the sons of the priest who helped him. Because of his forgetfulness and ingratitude, he ended up dying an ignominious death. His mighty army was delivered over to a very small army from Syria and then he was finished off by his own servants. You can lose your place if you're not grateful for what you have!
Do a personal appraisal and reflection and think about your gratitude debts. Who do you owe thanks?? Go and thank them. There are certain people you need to call, some you need to visit, and some you simply need to send messages of appreciation. Remember the people who gave you counsel, the ones who gave you opportunities and the ones who helped you financially. There are new people and opportunities God wants to bring your way that you may not receive because you haven't showed gratitude for the ones you’ve already been given!
All these I learnt from my spiritual father in church today and thought to share it with you all. A word is enough for the wise!
Humm
Count your blessings, name them one by one
' a yoruba adage says
No matter how small, we should be thankful.

Gratitude is a sign that man has not lost his sanity... I remembered all those God used to get me to where I am today. I am greatful because I am a work in progress in the hands of God.
