20,000+ SP Update Special Thanks!

in life •  7 years ago

Today is a HUGE milestone to finally reach 20,000SP. It looks like I'm also going to break 400 followers before the end of the year too!

I've spent much of this year working OT to invest my own money into this platform. It's almost strange to try and tell someone about how steemit works because people look at it as a waste of money, but they couldn't be more wrong.

Granted there are thousands who pass by here and have absolutely zero effect on my life. This is the case in real life as well. But the few you who have stopped to read and comment, and those who stop to help have really showed me that there is a portion of this community that really wants to extended a friendly gesture to each other.

Earlier in the year, I wrote about how empty the community here is and how far it is from hobbyist forum. That view is slowly changing and it is less about the people, and about the noise that exists here. That noise will clean up over time and I'm confident that we will all eventually find our place here so as long as we stay around and stay genuine.

One of my favorite things about being part of the steemit community is how the interaction here pushed me to change how I look at the platform and myself.

The key takeaway for me, irrespective of the money aspect of steem is about having an online persona. You REALLY need to be able to judge yourself critical and reflect on who you are as a person. Your content oozes your personality, and if you vlog, then you really see what you do and do not like about yourself.

Vlogging and Blogging really helps form your identity. Of course you can be fake in front of the camera, but that really makes it difficult because you feel a bit disgusted with yourself.

So just to throw some names out there off the top of my head in regards to people who regularly support my stuff and/or interact with me, or has somehow made me rethink about the platform.

There are many more, but I have the worst memory with names!

Reader Question: Tell me about 1 thing you think steemit has done to benefit your life and how it happened!

Photo of the day, I'm on top of some mountain in Washington. No idea where but I had to work out there and decided to flyout a few days earlier and take some vacation time to spend in the woods solo and reconnect with nature!

I think Steemit has benefit my life with making me more appreciative of Norway, where I live. So many sweet comments about people who want to come and visit Norway, and things I've been blogging about is on people's bucket lists. ... If that made sense :)

A new comer!! Where about are you in Norway? I was there last year in Trondheim Brekstad and Oslo!

There are lot of people looking to visit Norway, especially since Norwegian Airlines offers those CRAZY DEALS. But its so expensive, next time im smuggling booze in to make up some costs! haaha

Yes, newbie in town :) I’m from Stavanger, but just moved to Vesterålen in the north. Close to Lofoten, if you’ve heard of that. Next time you should skip Oslo and Trondheim, and come further north.
Haha, I know it’s a bit (...) expensive, but hey, nature is free :) so all you need is to bring a tent and you’ve got a free place to sleep ;) But of course, smuggling is also a great option :) What did you do when you were here?

Yes! I have heard of Lofoten! I want to eventually make my way up to Tromso. I met a friend in Ecuador who is from Tromso but moved to Brekstad!

I was visiting my GF at the time out there (she was going to school there as an international student). We spent most of our time outdoors and seeing the landscape. It was winter time so the scenery was great! I saw a moose up close too, which was a bit awkard because Ive never seen one in real life, and If i did, I normally would have ran!

I've never been to Tromsø myself, but it's only about five hours away, so will for sure be going up there soon.

Haha, I'm sooooo scared of those, they are everywhere these days, and lets just say; you dont want to hit a moose with your car ... And I really dont want to meet one in person either ... Id probably start running, but pretty sure I wouldn't win that race :)

Thanks for the mention @motoengineer! :)

To answer your question:

It's been a short month and a half since I've been a Steemian and what has happened so far?

  1. Almost no Facebook time.
  2. I'm able to blog anytime I want with the possibility of earning.
  3. I went from wishing I was involved in cryptocurrency, to owning some.
  4. I'm learning more everyday about different coins and their potential. Especially Steem and BTS.

Always looking forward to more engineering knowledge. How bout a bit on rigging and lifting? :) I got some cool pics I'll bust out eventually.

Im glad you jumped into Steem! For every currency out there, the cost of entry is a huge barrier. You have to set up accounts, pay fees, send in ID documents etc.

On steem you just sign up, and post. Thats it. And if you are really dedicated and determined, you'll start realizing that it actually starts with you and how you voice yourself and how you represent yourself! Glad to have you as a steemian friend!

I'm on steemit way way more than I am on facebook. It'll be better when the community features comes around when we can regularly see each others stuff!!

Hey look. We may be seers. :) Go Steem!

Hey @motoengineer,

We haven't met but @fknmayhem told me I should contact you to be part of my project @humansofsteemit

It's basically an interview to get to know the Steemian behind the username! :)

Interested?

:)

Absolutely! I would love to! How should we get in touch?

Great!!

You can either send me a message on steemit.chat or Discord!
@ashleykalila is my username there!
Or send an email to [email protected]

☺️☺️☺️☺️

@ashleykalila, I sent you an email!

Wow, that some massive SP you aquired there. Good start into 2018. And the price also went up. Nice!

Very good start, and took a lot of labor in the real world to save up enough money to buy that! Today STEEM is doing a killer move up too! To a great 2018!

Aaaand you are 1/10 there of becoming a STEEMiollionare :P

kakachingggggg

I was sending this your way to make you aware that I did not receive services for this a few days ago. The bot went to sleep, after the timer was up on the bidding for that cycle, then was reactivated but did render the services as it said. I am letting you know this as a quality assurance measure, I love the concept you are doing with this bot (that actually had a lot to do with why I bid when I found out how you formed it) and would like to participate in such ventures down the road when I am invested/relevant enough here at steemit. Again, I know you have countless irons in the fire, I was sending this a mention so that you know, as I have seen you have a lot put into this, and I don't ever want to see great entrepreneurial pursuits like this one fizzle out. Best of luck to you, @cryptkeeper17

Thanks man It is perfect (20.000 SP). Thanks for sharing ;)

thanks!

Congratulation king
