Noni Fruit

A neighbour has a tall noni tree in front of his house but I don't suppose he harvests the fruit at all. There are always fallen fruit lying on the ground squashed by passing vehicles.

The fruit apparently smells awful and tastes extremely bitter but has medicinal benefits. I saw an episode of Bizarre Foods several years ago where the host, Andrew Zimmern was asked to try some fermented noni juice. He mentioned that it was undrinkable because of its terrible bitterness.
