Lazy me drink instant coffee twice a day; black coffee without sugar and cream. However, sometimes visitors prefer the addition of the above mentioned condiments. So, I got a bag of sachets of instant coffee with cream and sugar; the quick three-in-one combination beverage.
Going through my pantry, I realised that the shelf life of the sachets of coffee expired a few months ago. I hate throwing the twenty-seven sachets of coffee away and wonder whether the powder could provide any nutrients for the soil and plants.
A post on the internet informed that instant coffee could be good for consumption up to twenty years and if stored in the freezer, the lifespan is indefinite!
Do I dare to serve twenty year old expired instant coffee to my guests? I don't think so. I am still on my quest to find out what I can do with my bag of instant coffee short of throwing it into the garbage bin.
Try using a packet or two with a pot of random plants and test first and see? Let us know if it works!
