1. Practice accepting circumstances
This may sound difficult, but it's one of the most effective ways to gain inner peace. You just have to let go of things that you really have no power to fix or overcome.
Breaking free from unbearable circumstances can alleviate the tons of anxiety and stress that accumulate in everyday life.
Maybe you can stop complaining about the situation and find the right alternative solution to overcome it. Or you can swallow the bitter pill in your hands. Understand the fact that everything does not always go perfectly.
2. Listening to music
Research has found that music has the power to reduce anxiety, stress and depression. In addition music also has a powerful influence when meditating. If you do not have access to music, you can find sounds or calming sounds around you.
3. Walk out
Talking about nature, the way out and enjoying nature is another way to find inner peace. One study found that students sent into the forest for two nights had lower levels of the hormone cortisol than those who remained in the city.
Cortisol is a stress hormone. There are also other studies in which researchers found a decrease in heart rate and cortisol levels in the subject in the forest when compared with that in the city.
4. Smile
Have you ever been greeted by a genuine smile? Of course make the heart happy and comfortable, is not it? How do you feel when your child smiles at you? You can not help smiling back. That's because smiling stimulates our brain's reward mechanism. Just like when we buy something or eat something delicious.
Whenever you are looking for inner peace, try to smile and even laugh at your current situation. This will make you feel better and calm. If you can not smile, you can make a fake smile.
And research has shown that even if you make a fake smile, it can still lift your little load.
5. Self-suggestion
Affirmations or repeating motivated words aimed at giving self-suggestion will direct negative thoughts toward positive thoughts. So it gives peace to mind.
6. Show gratitude
Realizing what to be thankful for is another way to find inner peace. Take a moment out of the daily bustle and ask yourself questions like, "What can I be grateful for today?" And, "Who do I contact today to tell them I care about them?" It helps you feel better about yourself.
