Goodbye?

There must be a huge colony under the house.

Constructed an ant colony in a cracked aquarium as a child. Fascinating watching providing they are not into one's food supply. 😎

It is truly amazing to watch them. However, these are leaf cutter ants and they have cut up all my vegetables. They love Kale and Roses. It does not take long and there are no leaves left on the plant. If they would only cut up weeds, there wouldn't be a problem. But they are specialized on the same plants humans use - both edibles and ornamentals as well. I had to place my little Chrysanthemum onto a little island surrounded by water to save it. The large tree is safe, as they don't climb up high. They are ground cutters. Although there will be no more cutting here right now...

Yeah, many a fascinated hour was spent watching their antics. 😎

This is one aspect that I really love about Uruguay: the insect world is amazing. Today I worked for some time in the yard and cleaned the area around Honeyboy's intended grave that never was. I had planted an Avocado tree there instead, but the frost did it in. When I removed the cardboard I had placed under earth that I had dug out, I discovered a number of insects that looked like Aliens. As someone who has a great admiration for invertebrates, I was thrilled to see spiders that looked like the invaders from 'The War Of the Worlds'. Absolutely amazing - up to the same coloring! I showed it to my Señora that comes with her two cows to graze. And she was not thrilled! :-D Then I discovered what looked like the hair of the Medusa! A moving, wiggling congregation of small, black caterpillars. And a number of large worms. They really do love their decomposing card board. Hopefully I will be able to use my macro lens before I leave. It requires a lot of time and dedication to work it though. But the results are always astonishing. I do my best to capture some of these amazing critters for You. :-)

The eyes on that critter are AMAZING! 😎

I may have messed up writing my email in the 'message' field. I am getting phishing emails. Just my luck. Can that be undone in any way?

My thought was that you did not add the hash (#) at the beginning of the memo field in order to encrypt it. Can't redo it at this point unfortunately.
