Steemisode 01: Why @dan and @ned are like the wright brothers

in life •  8 years ago  (edited)

After signing up for steemit two days ago, i went online and went through the content of my recognised online influencers ranging from bloggers to entrepreneurs in a bid to find out about their thoughts about steemit.

All my searches came back empty, it was as if steemit did not exist, I was very disappointed (heart-broken) that they did not recognise the value of steemit. At that moment i saw a picture of a Boeing aircraft and i remembered what Wilbur and Orvile Wright faced while trying to convince the world about the greatness of their aircraft.

Below is the picture of a flight test

The brothers conquered flight on December 17th, 1903, but no one noticed, the first story shown on the New York Times front page that day was about metropolitan roads and subways.

One of the most transformational event in human history took place and no one acknowledged it. The first mention the brothers had was in 1906, three years after their first flight.

The poor coverage Steemit has online shows that people still fail to recognise when something truly remarkable comes around.

Below is a now infamous quote
'' I think that there is a world market for maybe five computers"
Thomas Walton
Chairman, IBM
1943

Global sales for the PC for all time is 4,187,000,000 units and counting.

So to @dan, @ned and other people working to make Steemit great, the world may not acknowledge and appreciate what you are doing, but I and other wonderful people at Steemit recognise your efforts and we are solidly behind you
