Wisdom or "Wishdom"?

in life •  7 years ago  (edited)

Walking down the street,

I saw a wise old man.

He called, "hey my son"

I turned around and walked towards him.

He said, "I see you walk past here always."

I said, "yes old man, I always do."

He smiled and asked, "why my son?."

I said, "I love the village Chief's daughter."

He asked, "would passing by her house help you get her?"

I replied "she would believe I'm hardworking;

"she would think I go to farm always."

The old man looked at me and smiled again

He said, "would you call that Wisdom or "Wishdom"?"

I walked away feeling awkward.

THE END

Had to read again to catch the main content......you really did justice to that write up.
Learnt something.
You can deceive everyone one else but not yourself..........nice one you have here

Really nice story. Kinda funny. Wisdom or wishdom, Food for thought

Thank you.

The antonym of wisdom is folly or foolishness. The boy is acting in folly and deceiving himself. Thank you Ogo for sharing

Lolsss, that is wishdom...
He only wish, he should just go to farm and work rather than pretending

Thanks for sharing

Thank you for reading.

Lesson learnt

If you want I ask for it... Don't waste time

I think wisdom is the application of knowledge whether acquired or not which gives good or better advantage and the results of applied wisdom is acceptable as a good decision or good judgment. Let me just say wisdom is the perfect application of knowledge.

Nice post mama, keep it up, you are a teacher

Thank you.

You welcome ma😙

@ogoowinner at her best again, wise words from you. Wisdom is the greatest gift ever just as it was given in the bible. Thanks pretty Ogoo

True, one is an image of him self that cant be deceived ...

Thanks to the ever smashing @ogoowinner for this piece.

Personally, I think the line separating 'wishes' from 'reality' is thick indeed, how we end up mixing up the two is surprising.

Below is the fruit of living in WISH-DOM

But time given to WISHING for what can't be is not only spent, but wasted, and for all that we waste we shall be accountable.

Good evening @ogoowinner

Hehe, 😂😂

I wish I could call that Wisdom, but since it's only a wish I guess it will definitely be called Wishdom

Truth be told, he was only beating around the bush, and forgot to drive the nail straight. I guess we sometimes find ourselves doing this in our own lives. I think I do this, now I know it's wishdom, I'm certainly working on making the h silent.

Great way to go with this short advice, I've picked up some vital information.

Cheers😀😀

Nice write up i love the story it remind me of a film that have watch before

Had to read over and over again before I could grasp the meaning, this is really creative,
As for me I will call it wishdom like you said because in his only little wisdom he was only wishing that she would see him,
Lesson: he was working hard blindly without working smart

Wow... I can't stop laughing! This wishdom

Woh!!!nice post dear, thumb up. Am a newbie. followed and upvoted.

Wise words so succinctly put, indeed to be 'wishdom' is not to back up your wish with action but wisdom demands that we must work for whatever it is we need. Nice one dear

That's so creative dear really enjoyed this one thanks for sharing it :D

a nice way of telling something and a good lesson learnt there thanks dear for sharing it

He wants someone to believe he is going to farm, this is what Yorubas call 'Faworaja'. More wisdom from where that came from.

Hmmm! Thank the stars i read this o! The content is somehow funny, but its really wisdom in disguise. I learned, honestly.

Sometime silence teaches us a lot and this was that incident :)

kind of really interesting way your narrated it thanks for sharing it :)

Short but powerful message. A wish will still remain a wish until an action is taken to make it a reality.

Wonderful post @ogoowinner thanks for sharing.

Thanks for sharing @ogoowinner

Very interesting. Another side of the story is that suppose the wise old man happens to be the uncle of the girl.... The guy has just made a big fool of himself.
Nice one

Its quite a twist

Thank you for this wise word. This is needed to guide what we do as we progress in this life endeavor.

Errrr......forgive me, I'm usually not slow, but I don't fully get this story. What's the 'wishdom' part about? Does it mean the guy's a wishful thinker or what?
