SUNDAY SPECIAL
I was the preacher during one of the annual youth weekends in my church. After the church service, a mother walked up to me with her son who was a few inches taller than me and said "son, transfer the excellent spirit in you to him". She made sure our fists were clenched together and she left me to do the transfer.
"Just imagine the set up na". With all honesty, I can't say for sure I spoke anything out of the ordinary, I only said the little the Lord had taught me but some how it got her attention. I had to beg the boy to just pardon mum and we prayed together.
You see there is always this tongue talking brother that belongs to like two or more service units, that sister that sings in the choir, part of the prayer team and the leader of the sanctuary keepers. They come to church before everybody and leave last.
They are seen as ideal examples of true believers and some parents point to these serious brethren as examples of how they expect their children to behave. To many they don't have any challenge in their walk with God or should I say they have made many think so.
Often times they want to talk to someone about the challenges in their spiritual walk but they can't because of how people perceive them to be holy. They struggle in silence and before you know it, you hear one disturbing news like she aborted a child or got a lady pregnant.
I believe what people think of you shouldn't stop you from seeking help. Help yourself!
