Es el nombre cientifico de la especie que conocemos comúnmente como ARAÑA MONA, siendo está considerada la de mayor tamaño ya que puede medir hasta 30 centímetros de longitud y su peso puede rondar los 100 gramos.


Normalmente se encuentra en Sudamérica, viviendo en madrigueras y se alimentan principalmente de insectos y pequeños roedores.
