SATISFACTION IN A JOB WELL DONE... Well, almost done...

in life •  7 years ago

I've never really done anything like this before!

Although I've had some jobs in the wide range of tasks considered to be "construction," I've never really constructed anything like this. With some of the cheap lumber I've picked up recently, I've been building a chicken coop. Once the roof and door are completed, the project with be functional, although not completely finished.

Yesterday, as I was standing on top of it and noticing how solid the structure was, it gave be a feeling of satisfaction. It's a blessing to be able to try something new and succeed at it. I share more about the project and the feeling in the video below. Enjoy!

THE SATISFACTION VLOG

Well done indeed!...:)...

Haha! Love that lickety split "whip-around" stop in the Bob cat haha! I think I saw some tires come off the ground! Nothin' better than a hard days work for oneself. Should we even call it work? Enjoyed!

By the way you have a ton of projects on your mind! That's great just remember (I know you know this already) baby steps and before you know it you'll be standing on top of the last project you spoke of over looking it all......... hopefully with a cold one.

That would be nice! Thanks for the encouragement. Around here, progress is enough... as long as we got something done, we're doing well!

Same at my house. Doing somethin' each day is the way to go. I've actually got a written list that never seems to end but somethin' always gets crossed off each day on top of the daily and weekly chores. That damn list always gets added to as well but without it my mind would implode...........

I love that feeling, feeling satisfied, fulfilled, you just at peace or pleased with your self after completing a task. Weldone @papa-pepper

That you! it is a good feeling!

exactly

Wow. Good job.
More grace to you @papa-pepper

Ha ha... You "winged" the chicken coop! Lookin good!

LOL - Nice one!

Well done...no Google needed here! I was also thinking that the last picture could also be called...proof-of-confidence-in-building-strength

Nice! You're good at proof names! LOL

Thanks @papa-pepper let me know if you need any alternatives....would be glad to help you out!

And... now that he has had a taste (deep, rumbling voice)
mwahahahahaaa

He will soon be drawn to...

The Construction Side.

And things to plan for. If the chickens are going to be holed up in there for part of the winter (because of freezing) you will want to make plans for chicken manure capturing and removal.

One really interesting way to do this is to use pine tree limbs. The pine needles soak up all the nitrates the chickens poop out, and keep the coop smelling pine fresh. But these things have a way of becoming a few feet thick. So imagine removing a two foot layer come spring, and design access for it.

And save all your neighbors christmas trees. And use pine, and not cedar (chickens have problems with cedar)

Great thinking and good advice! Thank you!

I couldn’t agree more @papa-pepper. The satisfaction from doing things yourself and seeing them succeed is unbeatable. Those are looking like awesome 5 star chicken coops. Another great day in the Peppers Life- Story. 🌈🌴💛🦋❤️

Good job

Congratulations on job well done...keep going...
Loved the entry on the video :)

Thanks! I appreciate that!

Your welcome...
Have a great day :)

Wild-man on a wild-ride in the bobcat. Good job; that coop should last a good long time. I believe you really ought to paint it though.

We will see. I'll let @mama-pepper know you agree with her!

Congrats, it always feels good making progress especially when it's done with your own hands.

Well done, keep up the good work!

I am impressed @papa-pepper! That is a solid chicken coop. are you sure you aren't a beaver? We are awesome builders, so perhaps we need to make you an honorary beaver...

Now the avatar makes more sense! Honorary Beaver it is!

Welcome to the lodge! We take pride in what we build and we build it well.

I'm a bot. I detect haiku.

That is awesome! It is coming along nicely! It is way fun building things and winging it. :)

Yeah, the chickens are always winging it, so I figured I'd try!

Bahahahahahahaha nice! hahaha

Gratification from one's work, is worth all the time and effort spent into something. It brings motivation to continue doing more. Keep up the great work.

Thanks! It really does!

Looked really good. A coop to be proud of. Idea, probably defeats the look you are going for but you could also use the same barn tin that's going on the roof and also put it on the walls to avoid painting. Even if you do nothing you still will get a good number of years out of it. (Thumbs up)

Thanks man! Glad to know that you approve!
