When Johnny Walker brought Black Dog home

Many many moons ago, I think it was around when M S Dhoni made some 180 odd in a one day match I “bought” a Jhonny Walker (JW) while coming back to home. JW asked me if he could call his best friend “The Black Dog” to the party. I said “why not ” what’s the harm. Rather than you and me .. we will be four to enjoy the evening. Four he asked ?? The television I laughed. We all will watch the days replay.
The evening was fun. I don’t recall what happened after a couple of rounds but I do know that I woke up early morning and saw JW had left but “The Black Dog” was sleeping in living room.
I took a shower and was getting ready when he came in and said” you leaving somewhere ” . Office I said. Last night was fun isn’t it “The Black Dog” asked. It surely was but how come you stayed back and not left with JW, I asked.
I like your company .. can I stay for few days with you while my house gets renovated? Ok, I said not realising how much few days meant.
I left for office telling “The Black Dog” to enjoy the stay.
That evening I bought JW again to home. Again we four enjoyed the evening. I did not realise that “few days ” for “The Black Dog” would become more than 10 years.
He was now my pivot When I decided to say goodbye to JW. It’s been nearly 250 plus days that I have not spoken to JW … “The Black Dog” is keeping me company. Day and night. He follows me everywhere. Everywhere I go.
You see I realised JW was killing me as I had reached the stage three- stage 1 is man takes a drink. Stage 2 drink takes a drink. Stage 3 is drink takes the man. So I was in stage 3 but could not break my friendship with “The Black Dog”.

Oh, my will power.
Help me defeat “The Black Dog” too.
It feels like I am carrying an elephant
