Sick Day Remedies

in life •  7 years ago

After a weekend of fun, I wake up on Monday with a sore throat, cough, headache, and body aches. UGH. I'm sick. This time my sickness is subsiding more more quickly than usual. I am usually sick for the minimum of a week. These are some of the sick day remedies I am using that are helping me feel better.

Getting Fresh Air and Vitamin D

Usually I don't get out of bed at all when I am sick, this time I went to the beach and sat and read a book. I felt much better afterwards!

Snuggle!20180213_153656.jpg

When I am sick, I always start to feel sad and depressed. Then I cry and the mucus doubles. LOL. So this time I spent time doing things that make me happy, like snuggling with my baby.

Honey

Now I am talking real deal local honey you buy from the farmers market, not the honey imported from other countries. Honey is antibacterial and can soothe a sore throat and calm a cough.

Vitamin C

Everyone has heard vitamin C helps the immune system. Supplement extra vitamin C, but don't go crazy with it or you may end up with an upset stomach.

Hot Herbal Tea

Herbal tea has many benefits and the warm liquid helps get rid of the extra mucus.

Speaking of Hot Liquids

Chicken noodle soup! Or if you are vegan like me, "No Chicken Noodle Soup."

Fruit and Vegetable Smoothie

Smoothies are an easy way to pack as many fruits and vegetables in your body at once to make sure you have as many nutrients as you can get.

Sleep

This is what I'm about to do, this post has worn me out and time for a nap!

Don't forget to smile, you will feel better soon!
