Practice a little backwards empathy.

If you see someone doing or saying something you used to do or used to say yourself, but have stopped doing or saying it because you now consider it wrong....maybe take a moment to identify with that person before judging them.

Maybe consider that they didn't have the chance to receive the revelation or have the experience that changed your mind and caused you to see things differently.

Maybe refrain from considering them horrible people, when they are merely people just like you used to be.

Maybe practice a little backwards empathy.

Maybe, if you approach them about it, approach them in the way that would've been most beneficial to you, at the time in your life when you thought or behaved that way.

Just a thought.
