A Day Without Work Is Better Than A Day Without Baseball

If you’ve taken a vacation day and you’re on your way to see some minor league baseball such as the home opener between the Saint Paul Saints and the Chicago Dogs, be sure to walk through urban alleys and take pics of the backsides of hundred year old buildings:

We had planned to stop at Saint Dinette for burgers or possibly their famous fried bologna sandwich but they’re closed on Mondays so instead we went to the nearby Ox Cart Ale House where my lovely wife @ducksaplenty opted for the gruyere, caramelized onions, cremini mushrooms, and bacon gravy Slumhog Millionaire:

I went with the smoked cheddar maple-peppercorn bacon, and remoulade Pablo Pigasso:

We had seats way out in the left field bleachers but the tickets were freebies so we couln’t complain:

Baseball was played, bats hit balls, balls hit players (one of whom had to leave the game), but no bats were hit by players unless you count banging it on the ground in frustration for striking out on a full-count change-up that was way outside the strike zone and should not have been swung at.

It being a Saints game, hijinks and frivolity ensued:

While at a ballgame, Federal law requires all in attendance to consume at least one adult beverage. I got this session ale from Flat Earth Brewing at the conveniently close-by Craft Beer Corner:
