Thanks @socky! I took your advice and had a dealer replace my plugs and do a tuneup @100K.
Now warranty expired...do you recommend a repair contract with Firestone for future repairs/maintenance? (2013 Veloster base model).

Hmmm. I don't think I can give advice on repair contracts. I normally fix my own stuff and avoid them. Repair contracts will most likely pay none of the troubleshooting costs. Keep that in mind. Sorry I couldn't help on repair contract.

Yeah, of course you do your own repairs (brilliant)! My dad ran a body shop in our back yard, restoring classics and doing collision repairs. He made the 12-17 year-old me sand and help in the shop, saying “Someday, you might need this to fall back on!” He was exactly right: Those who worked for him and made body-work a career are financially well off today 🙃
