Hi all steemian, I want to share some news that I get from various media. This is about the status of the city of yarussalem that will be made the capital of Israel by the president of the United States is Donald Trump. Recognition of Jerusalem as the capital of Israel declared United States President Donald Trump on Tuesday (6/12/2017) and immediately received rejection from various parts of the world, including Indonesia, especially Aceh. The UN General Assembly's emergency session was held at the request of the Palestinians and received support from a number of countries, following the United States veto on the UN Security Council. A day before the trial was held, the United States threatened to sanction the economy to UN member states who speak out against it. UN Resolution 377, published in 1950, became the legal umbrella of the UN General Assembly's emergency session in the event that the UN Security Council failed to make peace-related resolutions due to the use of veto power.
An emergency session of the United Nations General Assembly with a voting agenda for a draft resolution on the status of Jerusalem was held on Thursday (21/12/2017). The trial resulted in 128 countries voting to support a draft resolution that opposes US recognition of Jerusalem as the capital of Israel.
while only nine countries, including the US and Israel voted against and 35 countries abstained. UN General Assembly President Miroslav Lajcak on Monday (18/12/2017) has sent invitations to 193 member countries. In other words, there are 21 countries that are not present at the hearing. Seeing the results of the vote, then the General Assembly of the UN officially passed a draft resolution which one of the points is to stop the recognition of Trump against Jerusalem on 6 December. Trump said it would cut its funding aid to opposing countries. According to UN analyst for the Council on Foreign Relations of Europe, Richard Gowan, Trump's "threat" appears to have an effect on small and poor countries. "Smaller countries, poorer countries may be a little nervous when they hear the Trump rhetoric," Gowan said. "But they are also quite confident that the big countries in the Arab bloc will guarantee a position against the US, as well as the European country," he added.
