It is somewhat ironic how people in general react so negatively towards their own negative emotions. Most of us hold anger within us for a very limited period of time. Our anger is essentially built up from long-term stress. And this, in turn, if not checked and handled correctly, can result in major health problems, and possibly even death. For example, let's say you have a loved one who is being threatened or abused by someone you perceive to be a 'bad person'. If left unchecked, this can lead to such extreme emotional problems that it is hard to even think straight sometimes.
In our societies today, it seems as if we are all too ready to judge and condemn without any real thought to the individual being judged or condemned. This can in fact lead to people getting emotionally overcharged and even going into a frenzy. The mass media plays a large part in this, especially our TV and news stations. So often people turn on the TV and watch to hear what another person is saying, rather than paying attention to what they are actually saying. And this is why it is important to take some time out occasionally to stop and look at what is really going on in the world around you.
You see, most people only focus on what is going on in their own life. And sadly, most people cannot seem to separate their life from their work or other activities. I have had friends over the years who have complained about how busy their lives are, but when I asked them specifically about what they were doing to take care of themselves, they could not give me an exact answer. They seemed more concerned with what they were eating or drinking than what they were doing to take care of themselves.
Now, I am not trying to say that people should not set aside time for themselves. After all, that is part of the very purpose of being human. But, for most people, when that time comes, they find that it is spent either at home, at work, or basically doing things that do not involve themselves. This is a huge problem. It is a problem that has been caused by marketing strategies, and it has been caused by people not getting enough exercise, or just not spending enough time at all.
Of course, one could say that this is somewhat ironic since we live in a society where people are supposed to be self-sufficient and active. But if you look at the lives of people who are considered the 'ideal' life-form, you will see that most of them are just average at best and at worst, miserable. If you really look hard enough, you will find that many of the 'ideal' people are very thin and hardly ever have any social interaction. And in these cases, it seems as though they are only concerned with themselves, rather than how they can contribute to the world. And this is why I say that it is somewhat ironic that we would turn to technology to help us stay healthy and fit.
Yes, technology can help us stay healthy and fit, but only if we use it the right way. We need to learn how to get more out of the way that we use technology, and also we need to change the way that we think about self-sufficient living. When we get too obsessed with being self-sufficient, we tend to forget about the importance of technology in our life. It's funny - how people in general, and especially Westerners in particular, think of the importance of technology. It's almost like they believe that technology is a given.
