Choosing The Right Self Defense Class

in life •  2 years ago

These are classes I took personally when I was first getting started, and they are still the classes I take with friends when we need some additional training. They have been proven to work.

My main criteria for choosing the right class for you are as follows:

• Do they teach you how to defend against realistic attacks? For example, if you are learning MMA, do they have classes that teach how to use your body weight to throw opponents?

• Do they focus on techniques and tactics, or more on physical strength?

• Do they have good instructors, or are they run by a gym owner?

• Do they give a refund policy? Some schools will cancel classes without notice, making it difficult to find someone to fill in the gap.

The two classes I recommend over the others in the following
are:

  1. Jiu Jitsu Self Defense, where I am currently enrolled.

  2. MMA for Women. This is an excellent place for beginners, and you get to see an instructor show you how to fight back!
