Motivation And Stagnant Imagination: Are They Related?

What is the best way to get rid of stagnant thoughts? You could sit around thinking "I wish I had more money" or "I wish I had more friends". But that's just not going to help you. And neither will constantly thinking about money or friends. The thing that will help you is this:

Use your mind to seek knowledge. After getting rid of stagnating thoughts, the next step is to use your mind to seek knowledge. What do I mean by that? Well, if you keep repeating your negative emotions, think about what negative thoughts those words would evoke, next time you do them, guess what... It's a mind game called "reflection with reflection".

Your thoughts influence your physical reality. When you constantly think negative, you get stuck in a negative cycle and your body feels the effects. As you keep on reflecting to yourself that you are stuck, you get more stuck and so on. And unfortunately this vicious cycle is usually self-perpetuating because your imagination gets you "stuck" even more. To get out of this cycle, you must first realize that your negative thoughts influence your physical reality.

Once you realize that your negative imagination is what's causing you to be stuck, then it's time to use your creative imagination (especially your mind's power) to get rid of these negative things. That means you need to develop positive images that inspire you and get you moving on with your life. Start by creating a weekly calendar (inspired by a photograph you saw on the Internet) that features all your favorite places and people. For each place, write a little summary of what it's like to visit that week and what's special about it. You can then include a brief description of what you did there and how enjoyable it was.

Now that you've created a visualized weekly calendar, start imagining what it would be like if you were living that week. Imagine yourself accomplishing all your goals and living comfortably. Imagine that you've done all the things you have to do and are able to look back and smile. Keep in mind that it's important to be realistic; however, the more you project into the future, the easier it becomes to get rid of negativity from your life. The more positive things you think and the more excited you get about life, the easier it becomes to create positive images and to keep the excitement alive.

Another great way to get rid of stagnant thoughts is to focus on the activities you love. When you are surrounded by things that you don't particularly enjoy doing, it's easy to slip into negative thinking. If you have hobbies or favorite activities that you feel you're good at, try to focus on those activities one day. Instead of dwelling on what you don't want to do or what you think you could do better, focus on what you do love to do.

Meditation is another great way to get rid of negative thoughts and to release the imagination from your head. When you meditate, you focus on your breathing. When you concentrate on your breath, you are relaxing your mind and body, as well as the things you want to happen. Your imagination will become less powerful and you will be less likely to experience the frustration and the feelings of not being able to accomplish something. Meditation gives you control of your imagination and when you realize how beneficial meditation can be, you will likely want to start meditating on a regular basis.

Being positive means allowing yourself to experience things that you wouldn't otherwise. As you learn to welcome change, you will likely find that your negative thoughts about the things you can't have or the things you think you shouldn't do will subside. If it takes finding motivation in new activities or learning new skills, find ways to do those things. You will have more energy and be happier overall.
