Mind you, that is compulsory fun with people that you have NOT chosen yourself! So they are NOT FRIENDS but COLLEAGUES!
What is work?
For me, working is a mandatory act. Because I need money to live well. To support my family, and to do fun things with them and the people I love and with the people I like to have around me. And of course I only speak for myself, but in principle colleagues do not belong in that category.
As soon as I have enough money to be able to live on it, I will not even bother to resign! I'm just staying away.
Of course I make fun, even while working, and certainly with my colleagues! But that does not mean that I would like to experience an event with them and certainly not to go out for dinner with them. Which should preferably take place in some steak restaurant where they then order the meat 'Welldone'.
Teambuilding, that is what they call it
The intention is of course simple and clear. That has been the case for centuries. The hope of leading people to get a good team together because people get to know each other better on a personal level. And not entirely unimportant, want to do more for each other.
I do not have that and I never had it. The only thing I think about during these trips is how fast I can get back home. I do my job well. That is my work ethic. Ensure that my work is in order. But then I want to dive into my own bubble again!
Today the department is going to sail a bit, and then eat out in a restaurant.
