I have a confession to make

We always get hummingbirds, I have several hummingbird feeders around the house,

BUT

I'm not feeding them this year, they can look elsewhere.

Whenever I watch them they fight and the little shits dive bomb at us when we walk outside (I think I may very well be putting waaaay too much sugar in their juice) with their 2 inch needle beaks!

Maybe I will feel more compassionate next year and provide for them, yet again.

As it stands now, I am just dealing with the bats in the house.

A couple of nights ago, a bat was flying through the kitchen at 1 am when I got up for a midnight snack. Yay okay we know why I really got up at 1 am, but here's this bat. It landed behind the trash can, I had a butterfly net, not too far away, near a door off the dining room that leads to a deck, so I was able to get it in the net and put it out the door, the poor thing squealed the whole time.

Much like the one I found sleeping under my pillow a couple years ago.

It was near dawn, just getting light outside, I rolled over in bed, and stretched my arm out under my pillow and felt a strange rubbery thing, (knowing we have over 100 bats living in our rafters) I knew immediately what it was, so I gently lifted my pillow to peak and not allow it to fly away, and YEP, it was a tittle bat. I laid the pillow back down went and grabbed a wash cloth of all things and covered it and gently as I could took it outside, yes, we also have a door to the outside in our bedroom that leads to a deck. (I love my old house) anyway, my husband woke up and asked what was going on, I said "there's a bat under my pillow", he said "oh" and rolled over, lol so I picked up the semi-sleeping bat in the washcloth, and carried it to the door and placed it outside on the deck, the poor thing cried the whole time and I felt bad because it was getting light outside, but, seriously, I couldn't let it spend the day sleeping under my pillow!
