Personality: a visible/invisible, task-based, experience based, but largely oriented around basic needs!

Visible personality or invisible personality or both; what shapes your life and how you get driven; which one becomes the predominant thing and when??

You do not suddenly define the personality when a child is born, right? Therefore it is a time-dependent phenomenon, it is also a task-based phenomenon; only in the formal sector do we organize something as tasks and judge the competency and efficiency of a person and on that premise, a personality gets defined. But there are so many things we do in the real world; we may not consciously categorize everything we do as tasks; so even without a task assigned, a person develops personality; here, the subtle force at play, experiences.

There are 4 types of wealth:

1. Financial wealth (money)
2. Social wealth (status)
3. Time wealth (freedom)
4. Physical wealth (health)

Be wary of jobs that lure you in with 1 and 2, but rob you of 3 and 4.

Individuals(personality) are shaped by their basic needs; freedom is something a fundamental need; which one would you sacrifice if it conflicts with the other, and how would that affect your personality; a tradeoff for common middle class all the time.

When we start growing we become more concerned about basic needs; that's where we start becoming conscious about personality; because society needs us to be competent and in that process, we want more acceptance from the wider mass; creating more opportunities in that process, a sense of security we seek every time. That psychological play is good and dangerous.

Suppose a person from the inside starts feeling a sense of insecurity, no matter whether that insecurity is genuine or not in the outer domain, in the materialistic world. In that case, they start crumbling from within. There may be available opportunities to steer, but such a state of psychological affairs makes a person incompetent even with a simple task at hand.

By and large, human beings tend to remain in their comfort zone and tend to hold onto fixed abilities. Such people do not choose to take a risk. Because if they take a risk, a more challenging task needs additional traits that would make them deficient; that could instill a sense of incompetence, they begin to doubt their fixed abilities.

Only a few people love to take challenge without worrying about their stature, social status, competency. I belive that taking on challenging tasks is always a welcoming step to develop your competence, even if you fail to deliver. If you fail, that will be a short-term setback; if you succeed, you establish the next level of competence in your personality. Either this way or the other way around, you are a winner.
