Jammu and Kashmir is a state in northern India, often denoted by the acronym J&K. It is located mostly in the Himalayan mountains, and shares borders with the states of Himachal Pradesh punjab china and pakistan Kashmir is the northernmost geographical region of the Indo-Pak subcontinent. It includes the Indian-administered territory of Jammu and Kashmir, the Pakistani-administered territories of Azad Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan, and Chinese-administered territories of Aksai Chin and the Trans-Karakoram Tract.when mughal badshah jahangir come to kashmir, while living in a houseboat on Dal Lake, once said “Gar firdaus, ruhe zamin ast, hamin asto, hamin asto, hamin ast”.
