Life Lessons We Can Learn From Ant Man and The Wasp

Marvel makes some really great movies and I absolutely love them. For the past decade, I have enjoyed watching so many comic book characters come to life on the big screen and blow me away with some great action and graphics.

In my opinion, each character brings a unique element to the overall team and it is fun to watch them all. The Ant Man movie series is another such fun series that I really enjoy.

Paul Rudd is simply great as Ant Man and he brings that comic element to the story telling that I personally really love. Also some actors just 'feel' like they are made for that role like Robert Downey Jr. seems made for the role of Iron Man.

Anyways, I really liked the movie Ant Man and The Wasp and I would like to talk about what I took away as life lessons after watching it. (Spoilers ahead if you haven't watched the movie yet).

Never Lose Hope

In the movie, it is shown that Hank Pym (the original ant man) loses his wife (Janet Van Dyne) to the quantum realm after a mission goes awry. Still he didn't give up and kept looking.

When Paul Rudd's character came back from the same quantum realm in the first Ant Man movie, hope was renewed in Hanky Pym which led to him creating the necessary means to bring back his wife.

We too shouldn't lose hope in life. Life will throw situations at us where it becomes really easy to give up everything, but it is in those moments that we somehow have to carry on.

Patience Is A Virtue

Paul Rudd's character was shown as being under house arrest for the part he played in a previous MCU movie (Civil War) as it was against the Sokovia Records. He was placed for over two years under house arrest.

Imagine spending more than two years in your home and never going out. But he went through it for the sake of being able to live freely in the future and spending more time with his little daughter.

It is important to have patience in life as well. Not everything happens at the speed we want and sometimes there is no option but to wait. Therefore patience is a really important quality we should have.

There Are Lines You Don't Cross

There are certain lines that we just don't cross in life and the movie gives a great example. The character called 'ghost' wanted to kidnap Ant Man's little daughter to make him do what she wanted.

But Lawrence Fishburne's character (Bill Foster) who was helping her in her mission to get healed from her condition, didn't support this idea as he thought that would simply be immoral.

In life too we might be in situations where we could easily get ahead or achieve things if only we crossed that line, but that is simply not worth it and its baggage remains with you throughout your life.

Help People

When Ant Man has a lovely conversation with his little daughter, she says "Trying to help people isn't dumb." Such great wisdom from a child! This is something that seems rare these days.

In the movie, Ant Man helps Hank Pym and the Wasp even though he really didn't have to. He actually risked getting caught by the FBI agents after having successfully spent two years inside his house, with mere days to go.

And due to his help, Hank got his wife back and they were able to avert the attack from "ghost". We should too help people in life without expecting anything in return. That's just the human way!
