If you've been following my blog for a while, you must already be aware that I love watching TV shows and movies and write about some of the things I learnt from them.
I believe that they don't have to be only entertaining but can teach us some valuable lessons that we can inspire us to take on the many challenges of life.
Marvel's Daredevil is another such show that I just enjoy. As a Marvel fan, I am happy with the job they are doing with their many TV series which are all set in the same Marvel Cinematic Universe that we love.
I recently finished with Season 3 of the show and as always, Daredevil fulfil's the mantle of being the top show among Marvel's TV shows. Today I want to talk about some great life lessons we can all learn from this show.
Never Let Anything Limit You
One of the first things that one notices is the hero himself, Matt Murdock, a blind lawyer-by-day and a vigilante by night. Sounds cliche but what sets him apart is that even though he is blind, he fights crime better than anyone else. (As a lawyer and as Daredevil)
As a result of his blindness, his other senses were heightened greatly and is therefore able to perceive things about his surroundings that normal people can't. That, coupled with his awesome fighting skills, gives him the edge over his enemies.
We can learn a really valuable lesson here. We shouldn't let anything limit us in our lives, no matter what it is. Your present situation can change and does not have to define your future if you work hard and smart enough.
Friends Are Important
Over the past three seasons we have seen the friendship between Matt, Foggy Lenson (Matt's close friend) and Karen develop and grow as these characters continuously faced one battle after the other.
Sometimes they pushed each other away and sometimes they held on but they always cared for each other and helped one another, even risking their own lives in the process.
Friends are really important in anyone's life. They form the support structure one needs and in a way, are your another set of family. A family, not by blood, but by bond. And that is a beautiful thing.
Don't Give Up Hope
The show does a really nice job at telling the entire story in just 13 episodes. From the initial introduction of the threats that our heroes will need to face, to their utter defeat and then victory at the end, the show keep you on your toes.
There are points in the story, where we just can't see the heroes make a comeback after just having faced a major setback. This happens quite often, but we always witness their resilience and this is yet another valuable lesson.
In life too, we continuously face challenges. Some are small and some seem too big to handle and can lead to us losing hope. But if one stays resilient and keeps hope and keeps moving forward, it is possible to overcome any hurdles.
