I believe one of the most important teaching moments is to raise a child who is grateful. It is even more vital now than ever in our entitled world where children wish for smart phones and other latest electronic gadgets. Often these items are very expensive and have monthly costs in addition to the upfront expenses.
Today, my son wrote a thank you note to one of his favorite teachers along with a small gift card--enough for a couple of fancy coffees or treats at the local Starbucks to show his appreciation.
I think that being thankful for the things that we have and the people in our lives is so much more important than getting more things. Besides, feeling grateful is the first step in opening the gateway for further abundance.
