Monday Motivation: Planning for the Week Ahead

Mondays are ofttimes the worse day of the week. Getting up for work is harder to do. Things go terribly wrong and you don't have the energy for damage control. It's the day when the gears struggle to turn as you work yourself up for the week ahead.

For many, this is the best day to spend planning for the week ahead, instead of doing any actual work on your projects. Making goals for your week, including Monday hours still to come, is a great motivator to kickstart that motor in your head. And yeah, a cup of coffee helps too, especially for us writers who exercise that intellectual and creative muscle every day.

And with the way I've been researching, networking and reviewing new games for AIR Entertainment, the time has come for some careful planning for the week ahead. Let's not forget the Guinness World Record Anthology event I have planned for 17 March 2018 at Parow Library in Cape Town, South Africa. Yes, careful planning is needed.

So if I just take a quick look at my week ahead, here are the top ten tasks I need to focus on:

  1. Complete Act 1 development of Silent Hill: Obversion by Friday
  2. Complete Malum: Rise of the Deadly Sins Teaser cards by Sunday
  3. Write 3 chapters of romantic fantasy novel, Dream Whispers on Saturday
  4. Finalise writer agreements for Celenic Earth Publications today
  5. Complete Act layout for novel-to-film adaptation of Lynette Greenfield's 'The Day it Rained Forever' by Thursday
  6. Start a new #hour trend on twitter for my author platform
  7. Marketing of Guinness World Record anthology event
  8. Increase book sales by 5%
  9. Post daily on social media platforms
  10. Networking, networking networking (social media growth)

There are of course many other tasks I still need to tackle, but putting these down makes it easier for me to put some focus on the week ahead, and turns this dull Monday into something productive, if somewhat still procrastination in nature.

Do you have a plan for the week ahead? What does your top ten look like? Let me know in the comments below.

Ooohh nice point. Nice relaxing day to pen things down

Done

Very true mondays are always the hardest, now a days I don't think about it so much, I just wake up and do what needs to be done, and if you enjoy what you do, you will feel better and happy.

Absolutely. If you aren't doing what makes you happy, then you need to relook at your life. hehe.

That's really a smart way of been responsible- penning down task so you have the consciousness and grasp of it.
All the best as you endeavour to accomplish them @shadowolfdg

Thank you!

Very good note to self. Thanks for this
