There's a lot of social heat about guns in the US right now.
School shooting tragedies happen, and people want answers, and they want it to stop. Of course they do. We want safe, thriving communities, and schools that we can be comfortable sending our kids too.
But this doesn't mean that we must give up our Constitution out of fear. In the US, the Constitution and Bill of Rights was created to protect us from our own government. It's not a set of laws against people, but a set of rules for the government to remember: if you step over these lines, there's a failsafe system in place to push you back.
So when I see people with an obvious political agenda try to interpret the Constitution in a clearly biased (and idiotic) way, I think it's fair to say...
... I get triggered
Case-in-point is this guy:
Who made the most blatantly biased tweet interpreting the Second Amendment that I've ever seen:
In case you didn't know: here's what the Second Amendment ACTUALLY says:
A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.
As anyone with a basic level of literacy can see, the right is that of the people to keep and bear Arms, not to "have [sic] a well regulated militia."
The Militia is the reason for the right to keep and bear Arms -- to have a free State.
It literally could not be any clearer.
The point I'm making is that you have to be careful out there, because there are lots of people who are eager to confuse you about your inalienable rights. They want you reacting off of anger, to be pawns in their political agenda.
Don't fall for it. Be literate. Be smart. Don't be like this idiot and the 8,000 + people who liked his tweet.
What is with these comments? ;_;

Nicely compiled. People are easily hung up on wording, it's crazy.
