Hello, i hope everyone is having a nice day/evening so for. I have been looking through some old folders on my computer and came across a bunch of old words docs, excel sheets and lots of silver coin pictures from when i first started on steemit almost 2 years, 23 months to be exact. When i first found steemit i thought great, i have somewhere i can post and talk about silver with other stackers. Before steemit, i heavy used thesilverforum.com which is an excellent forum with great members. At the time i was thinking about starting a stacking youtube channel but it seemed like alot of work and did not think i would beable to deliver consistent material that was good. When i found steemit, i was like "JACKPOT". I thought, great i can spend 10 minutes are 3 days writing a post, it's decentralized and it paid out in this crypto i never heard of called STEEM that was worth around 90 cent at the time.
Here's my journey from a silver stackering crowd pleaser to a crypto investing harmit
MONTHS 1-4
I made my silver stacking intro post click here, got 2 comments, 3 upvotes and earned 3 cents. Next bad for a first post to be honest i thought at the time. The next day i dropped another post and @fat-elvis drops a comment telling me about a stacking community called #steemsilvergold. Within a week i was a member, i was making 2-3 posts everyday (x1 good silver post, x1 silver meme post and another shit post for fun), i was interacting with all great people and starting to rebuild some trust fro crypto's again (mtGox victim). Them first few months were great, i took over the membership list from @hgmsilvergold, opened up the community discord server and started to arrange groups buys for things. I answered back to every comment, read 15-20 posts per day and took part in lots of community contests/challenges.
MONTHS 5-9
Bitcoin was starting its run and STEEM was starting to go up. The community introduced STAX and i helped with that as did a few other members, i got voted in as a community mod and times were busy with lots of new people joining up to steemit during the crypto craze. I finished 2017 with the UK group buy for the first steem silver and started out 2018 with the new community recruitment roadmap and crypto groups buys. Around 1 month later we all found out that the member that ran STAX "for the community" was a dirty back stabbing #$@&%! so a group of 5 SSG members started Precious. Me and @welshstacker did sales, @raybrockman and @damus used their connections to bring us big leases at good prices and @buggedout coded and ran the actual bot.
During this time i had started to only post once a day, in 1 week i might have 3 silver posts and 4 community related posts are getting high in the shed video's. I was starting to get more interested in crypto's as Bitcoin went from $8k to $20k in about 3 months. STEEM was sitting at over $6 and we thought it would never end. I pretty much started to use all my silver stack fund for buy crypto's while they were at their all time highs and started to get idea's of starting up a solo project
Months 10-13
I took over the day to day running of Precious from buggedout and got an eye opener. Me and Welsh were busy learning the ropes of everything for a few weeks but we work well as a team and pulled it off. I was posting daily from @ssg-community during this time and the content from my personal account was rubbish and rushed. I was for more interested in helping to run Precious and spent alot time on discord talking about different ideas and then i rushed out a post from SSUK every night before bed.
Months 14- Present
The past 5 months have been pretty much the same, we stand by and watch steemit active users numbers drop, we watch the amount of comments being left drop hugely and sometimes it feels like what's the point to write a post. I have over 1000 followers and im known by a few people here on steemit from my community work on SSG and i might get 2-3 comments per post. I see others writing brillant posts and getting no comments at all but maybe 100 upvotes. It goes to show that people only post to get paid, maybe im one of them. I read 2-3 posts per day now, hardy ever interact because why leave a comment if it's not gonna be read and im spending most of my time either on discord talking about idea's that never happen and i researching a few hours every day. I got bored and started my own bot service @steemcryptosicko which is basically a rip off of Precious on a much smaller scale and open to everyone on steemit. It's doing ok with a voting wallet of 40k SP and it currently offers an ROI of 158% which is the best ROI offered from a public bot on steemit. CSB offers a 50 STEEM bounty to anyone that can show a public delegation>upvote bot that pays higher than CSB's current ROI. I have not bought a proper silver order in months and dont even know what any of the 2019 silver bullion coins look like, im more interested in crypto now and would much rather read up about the latest shit coin over how the banks are gonna fail. If the banks fail, people are gonna buy Bitcoin not gold in my opinion. If it was not for @monsterjamgold hand pouring bars i would not have stacked more than 100 oz's during 2018, my lowest year yet.
The world is getting faster and times are not changing, they have already changed. I can buy BTC in 30 seconds from my phone and then sell it back just as fast. I could prob buy some silver in under 5 minutes but i dont need to make sure someone is home to receive it and selling when no LSC is 15 min writing a post, PMing with different people, waiting for payment and posting it out taking 2-4 days. I have a huge pile of shiny metal that is becoming less relevant as an investment and i feel it would be better the sell the lot and convert it into BTC are even the stock market **gaspp. I'll never do that, i love my stack.
The future
Who knows? I starting to feel like im a guy that owns alot of silver more than a stacker. I need to find that fire again, i might start watching the gone but not forgotten silverfishVT youtubes video again to find inspiration. What do i have to offer to the #'steemsilvergold community anymore? I've been putting in 20-30 hours a week into steemit and SSG related projects over the past 2 years and burned out. I have recently stepped down as community mod and gave over the control of steemsilvergold recruitment, membership list, discord server and the community curation trail @myprecious over to community mod @dfinney. She is on top of everything and will do the community proud, i feel everything is in safe hands and i think she will improve a few things after she gets her feet wet. I will continue to work with Precious mainly cause i like working with welshie and it's not as much work as it used to be and the community crypto group buys plus smartnode are safe. I will not be going anywhere and the plan is the same as always, wait till BTC hits 30k, cash everything out, convert it to STEEM and send everyone their cuts.
For me, i might drop 1 silver post a week and see what else i come up with the rest of the week. Im working on a few shared and solo projects , all related to STEEM but not SGG and same not even related to steemit for that matter.
My thinking right now is.......
2 years ago, I swapped from posting on thesilverforum.com to steemit.com thinking steemit was the next best thing and getting early was a good move. thesilverforum had 800 paying members at the time and SSG was 20 strong. Today SSG has 30-40 true members from it's 170 membership list and thesilverforum has 1800 paying members with 50-100 online at any time. If i had never found steemit, would i continued stacking like a boss the past 2 years are would i still have found my way over to cryptos? If i could find a way to put the best of both thesilverforum and steemit together, that would be a gamechanger.
For now, steemit is an investment vehicle
without sugar topping it

Funny I was just going through timitwist old blog and resteems, for some reason I got a vote from that account today. Anyways you posted your ass off sometimes more than 3 a day and sometimes for less than 10 cents. Times have changed and so has the group. One thing is for sure, we both made the right investment as far as cryptos are concerned and we both have solid futures as far as silver goes.
Keep smoking and keep stackin!!!!

Never thought of it that way, i guess bases are covered.
I like going through old posts sometimes, brings back memories. I used to speak to you like you were the Don before i got to know you, lmao. Same with Damus, you 2 guys were top players in SSG as far as community related giveaways and handing out big upvotes went. Not much has changed in that sense but your right when you say the group has changed. Sometimes i think about the steem-engine platform when i look at weedcash are recently pal and think SSG would be much better if it had it's own front end but there are too many restrictions for us to go there. Just waiting on the next big thing my friend. I know your game and ready 😎

GOD DAMN!! There's a blast from the past.
I'll get you nominated for rejoining the community. I guess my post gives you a little insight to what's been happening the past 2 years. There's alot to catch up on. Great to see you back man.

Appreciate the look back and understand the feelings for sure. I utilized steemit as a monetary vehicle and still view the platform in that manner. Even if I only make back a small portion of my overall investment ( less than 60 bucks which I have recouped in silver) I am thrilled with whom I have met and what I have learned.
My advice (take it or leave it) rest a bit and enjoy what you have accomplished. That fire for the investment will return on both sides brother. That's why most of stack or like crypto; its that different mindset we hold. Thanks 4 sharing!!

BLAST FROM THE PAST!!
I've been grinding my ass off the past 2 years. I burned out of memes many moons ago my friend, i tried to revamp with crypto memes but it was not the same. I will go and get to renominated for the community, you got cut months ago. You have so much to catch up on, MONSTER RAFFLE from @ssg-community. Raybrockman is sorting out our 3rd silver STEEM round, there's still loads happening bro Glad to see you back

I was looking for something the other day. Can’t remember what, but I came across some comment you had made to Ray. It was early days of ssg. You were thanking him for commenting on your post and saying how nice it was he had stopped by. It was very sweet. ☺️
I hope the next few months give you a burst of energy on steemit now that you can be a bit more self focused. It is easy to get burned out around here. Especially when things are quiet.
Hope the weekend has been good so far!

Yeah i used to kiss Ray's ass back in the day :) I was deffo a nicer person back then before i met Damus, it's his fault.
I think not having to make any community posts takes a little pressure off and i'll beable to spent more time writing better posts about the things im interested in.
My weekend is over now, starting new jobbie tonight but it was a nice 9 day weekend, baaa-hahahaha

Love my Cryptos but I think your silver stack will pay off soon and you'll get your fire back. Once Gold breaks through that $1360 level in earnest you just watch Silver play catch up like its on the end of an elastic band.

I waiting for a 45/50-1 STG ratio than it's lots and lots of gold sov's for me.
Cryptos are way more fun to play with at the minute :) :)

Nice. Gold Sovs would be a good option where you are...
...and yes, Cryptos are a lot of fun at the moment. I'm a bit more excited than usual about both Gold and Cryptos right now :)
