Could world war three really happen?
Throughout the past year events have been taken unexpected turns and twists.
Lets recap
- Britain has voted itself out of the EU.
- North Korea conducted 24 ballistic missile tests and two nuclear tests in 2016 alone, defying six UN Security Council resolutions banning any testing.
- Terror in Europe ( started with the Paris attacks in November 2015, the bloodiest atrocity in western Europe’s recent history. After that terrorists targeted Belgium and Germany just as France. )
- Donald Trump, real estate mogul , surprised everyone by winning the 2016 presidential elections after polls and experts tipped Hillary Clinton for the job.
- Attempted coup in Turkey
- Russia interferes in the U.S. presidential election
- Violence continued to escalate inside Syria
and many more world events had happened in 2016. I do not want to discuss if a world war three is going to happen or not. But I believe that there is a possibility for a serious and unsafe conflict between North Korea, Japan, the United States, Russia and Europe which could expand globally.
Of course not everybody would be able to leave their countries because of their job, family, money or they are just too scared to start a new live at a more safer spot. But for those who are already thinking about leaving your current city if world war three would happen, here are 5 safe countries I recommend to go to…
NEW ZEALAND
New Zealand, however secluded, has a stable democracy and is not involved in any major world conflicts. Like Switzerland, it´s mountainous terrain means it could offer shelter to locals if danger were to strike.
TUVALU
An Island nation deep within the Pacific Ocean, Tuvalu is very neutral. Its extreme remoteness helps it avoid becoming politically aligned. Tuvalu´s slight resources and small population mean major powers won’t have a reason to attack it. Tuvalu´s locals produce their own goods and foods, which makes them uniquely independent.
Same applies to Fiji. Fiji has a small population and neutral in foreign affairs and does not have any resources to justify invasion.
BHUTAN
It´s unique location makes it an perfect shelter for a third world war. Surrounded by Himalaya mountains, Bhutan is one of the most secluded land locked countries. They joined the United Nations in 1971 and have a Swiss-like aversion to get politically entangled. Bhutan has no diplomatic relationship with the United States of America.
ICELAND
Iceland was being ranked as number one in 2016 global peace index. It also shares no land borders with other countries and has mountainous terrain to shelter amongst conflict.
ANTARCTICA
Not only is this sub-zero continent miles from anywhere, it was also the site of the world’s first nuclear arms agreement in 1959. Antarctic Treaty banned the detonation of all nuclear weapons. But who wants to live there? Antarctica is known as the city under ice. It is now full of abandoned toxic waste and radioactive coolant that´s why it will soon be disentombed from its frozen lair as the icecaps continue to melt.
I never thought that we ever get into such a dangerous situation like that especially so soon. I am going to pray that a next world war wont happen at least not any time soon.
The future is obscure.

Australia is a fool, they are mucking about with china and bringing the conflicts closer to N.Z. than you think, I am in N.Z. and thinking we will be soon over run with people escaping the northern hemi if nukes are used up there, as to why I have a camp way up in the ranges, who wants to join us, many hands make lite work and easier living.

nope Poland would be one of the first to go .I do WW3 updates and follow close whats going on in the world . The Russians would roll there tanks right through. It would be vary bloody . The elites want war they don't care where it starts . As far as safe nope not in the long run . most nukes today are at least 300 times more powerfull then WW2 .

This is a really awesome list. But do you know that Iceland is actually breaking apart? It just formed as a result of tectonic activities underneath it. And it's actually spreading apart because it's right above a divergent boundary. In the following years, it'll be divided. Just saying. But who knows, right? War may broke out sooner than later but I hope not. I pray not.

Super nice list! And what a beautiful countries & continent. Must say, I only visited one of them, Antarctica. Not so much to do other then playing with the wild live and lot of self reflection next to enjoying the enormous silence and being at such a remote place with only a few people around you. But I may go to Iceland! Or New Zealand. What country would you go to?

Wow nice! I have never been to Antarctica but when its safe, I would not care if there isn´t so much to do. I would love to play with the wild life instead of being in danger :)
I have never been to NZ but I am pretty sure I would choose New Zealand. Just because you have so many opportunities over there and its still one of the safest places on earth.

That was also my thought for New Zealand. Iceland is much smaller, but the people seem to be very very nice and they have this week of party whole Scandinavia is going to :)

South-America in general should be dangerous. Maybe it will be safe in ww3 but there are still many local criminals. Thats why I chose other top 5 countries.

New Zealand looks better and better to me. I now live in the US, but have been thinking about returning to my native Denmark because it tends to be pretty peaceful and stable... and mostly "not noticed" in global politics. But it feels to (geographically) in the middle of things, if the situation goes really wrong...
