Thoughts Of The Week πŸ™‡πŸΌβ€β™€οΈ #2

in life β€’Β  7 years agoΒ

It is only Tuesday and the week just started but I still have some things to talk about...

I would say itΒ΄s about the last week and also months and years before...

As you might know by now, it is a lot happening in this world at the minute. We get news from all over the world everyday. Wether its political war over in America and North Korea, natural disaster like the hurricanes in the Dominican Republic, Florida etc., ISIS attacks or the refugee crisis in Europe. There is so much going on lately that I totally understand that not everybody is informed correctly.Β

Some people might say that it doesnt affect them so they wont have a critical look at it which is way better than defend an opinion without knowing the true background of it. Now we are already talking about the topic which is so important for me.Β

#InformationΒ

Informed decision-making comes from a long tradition of guessing and then blaming others for inadequate results. - Scott Adams

The German elections took place last Sunday which ended up surprising. It is a little bit different than the elections in the USA.Β

"In Germany the right to vote is ruled. According to this, about the same number of members of a party are represented in the Bundestag, as their share of the vote was represented throughout the Federal territory. The Bundestag election and the election of the Federal Chancellor to the government are laid down in the Basic Law and the Federal Election Act.

A consequence of the so-called majority suffrage in the USA is that a candidate can become president. Although not the majority of voters voted for him. For example, twelve years ago Georg W. Bush was only 47.9 percent of the vote, his Democratic counterpart, AL Gore, gained 0.5 percentage points, but had fewer electors and was not elected.

The same happened in the US election years 1824, 1876, and 1888, when a candidate was defeated by another candidate, although he had received fewer votes on a nationwide basis.

In contrast to the United States, there are several parties in Germany: the Christian Democratic Union, headed by the current Chancellor Angela Merkel, with her sister party, the Christian Social Union - the Social Democratic Party of Germany with Peer SteinbrΓΌck as a future chancellor candidate - the Greens - The Free Democratic Party / The Liberals and the AFD. There are also The Left, The Greens and many smaller fragmentation parties. When the 5 percent hurdle is reached, a party in the Bundestag is only represented.

In the Federal Republic of Germany, the Federal Chancellor is elected in the Bundestag. This is usually done with the votes of the deputies of at least two parties (coalition)."Β

You see, itΒ΄s a lot different than in America. Anyway, there is a lot happening in Germany right now because of the refugees. Some people say it is great how the politicians decided and some are saying the total opposite. I do not want to dig in deeper into this conversation otherwise this post wouldnt end today! If you want to know more about whatΒ΄s going on in my home country, I can send you some links that will explain the current situation.Β

When I scrolled through Social Media, all the Influencers were promoting a specific faction in order to manipulate the younger generation. I say manipulate because girls with over 2-3 million followers were saying that we should be proud and happy to live in that country because we are safe, have everything we need and shouldnt vote for others who want to change that! They say things like - We as women need to vote for a woman to support female power. But to be honest, this sounds paid to me. There is currently changing so much in our country and no, we arent safe anymore. Of course you can not compare Germany with countries like Syria, Libya, Yemen and so on. But I grew up playing outside, running through parks and exploring the nature...Β

This isnt possible anymore. Especially as a young woman living in bigger cities such as Hamburg, Munich, Cologne or Berlin. But digging deeper into this topic would cost too much time so I will stop here and leave all opinions open...Β

What I want to discuss with you is all about I N F O R M A T I O N.Β

I am not saying that any parties, presidents, countries or anything like it are bad. My opinion isnt important in this post because I only want to explain how important true information really is. I know many people who accept and believe everything that the mainstream media is talking about. They do not ask deeper questions because they believe everything what they are saying is true. But talking to people who work for the government or to people who have a critical look at the politicians made me realize that many things just arent the truth.Β

It is okay to have a different view about certain topics but before making a decision, everyone should be informed correctly.Β

  • I recommend searching in the web. Do not believe the TV unless you have proof by reading articles not made from the mainstream media.Β
  • Talk to family members or friends and ask why they think in a specific way and do not make any judgement until you informed yourself outside the closest circle.Β
  • Read articles of what happened in the last months and search on different websites to have a clear picture about the situation
  • Do not believe everything that people around you are saying because maybe these people are informed wrongly.Β
  • Search on websites that arent common in the society because some informations are hidden or were deleted

I do not want to attack anyone and I'm open to any opinion. I have heard a lot, researched and am not satisfied with many decisions but you will always find somewhere errors because no one is perfect. This post shouldnt be all about Politics. Take the tips and tricks to be better informed anywhere with you.

  • Use it before making a judgement of a new friend.Β
  • Use it before changing to a new school.
  • Use it before deciding working with a new company.
  • Use it before signing for a new job.

Use it anywhere in order to make the best decision for yourself to not regret your decision later on.Β

I would love to know if you are already checking the news outside of the mainstream media or if you never heard of manipulation from the TV or news channel.Β

I am open to any opinion and glad to hear your point of you!

Stay focused  ☝🏼

Love, SoldierΒ

Hey,
Interessanter Artikel.

Well noticed ;)

Be informed, just don't understand random people!
Unusual time to post for you :P

ps. do you wear contact lenses?

I like it - Personally I stopped watching T.V. news many years ago, I occasionally switch on analyse it to check that it's still got a right wing bias (it has - Fiona Bruce now sneers even more vividly when she mentions anything to do with workers rights and greater equality).

I recommend subscribing to The Week - which is a weekly round up of news from various newspapers - getting a bit of distance on the week's events helps a lot with objectivity - I also like 'The Conversation' - and academic News Site - and C4's Fact checker and 'More or Less' from R4 are all great for even deeper analysis of 'the facts'.

I look forward to the day when the news becomes something like this: An event has happened, we've filtered out the 10 most valid pieces of research evidence that help us to understand it and now we're going to analyse them and come to some reasoned conclusions about why this even has happened and what the likely outcomes are.... rather than giving time to ideologues and pointless vox pops!

And of course... Charlie Brooker sums up the style problems with the 'news'

Β  Β· Β 7 years agoΒ

Say, thanx for the tip - I will have to go subscribe to 'The Week'.

I can see where that'd help give a person 'DISTANCE', or better objectivity !

This is a very intelligent written post. I very much understand you. I will go further and stop here by saying that i have my reservations about the mainstream media.

Exactly, the objective of mainstream media is fill our brains with false information and presenting the lie in the form of truths!

The refugee problem is being created by the governments of different countries, creating a situation of war there and then taking benefits for their own use. I guess we all know what have been done so far!

Your posts are awesome! Keep sharing your insights I love them.

Good post!
this one is for this beautiful lady

Social manipulation is the very reason that governments rarely turn on their media. Governments need some kind of communication with this "entity" because of the ability to disseminate information. The problem however, is that the media has become weaponized, and can effectively been seen as political hit men for hire, white washers, co-conspirators, and in some cases, as an offshoot of a shadow government. It is the media that doles out daily doses of malcontent, disillusionment, division and contempt... and we gobble it up daily... like addicts getting a fix from a pusher.

Thanks for this post. I'm from California and I see so much stuff. Like the movie and singing stars are all against something. Are they really against something or because they work for something that they do talk like there is a certain agenda to wipe out something or someone. I see my friends on facebook that they seem all brainwashed to think a certain way. They ask me if I fact checked a thing, but what they call fact checked on a certain site looks like it was paid for my the main stream media. I try to look at the agenda. How are certain people trying to persuade? I can not trust the main stream media or else I would believe everything that the main stream said about the 9/11 event was the truth. No, far from it. You can see from the news video that it was demolition. How about the Sandy Hook shootings. Did you see their crisis actors? The girl that was supposed to be shot, Emilie Parker. Then we find her alive and in the arms of then President Obama. I don't even think that NASA even made it to the moon. No cause if there is only one light source, sun, then why do some shadows look like they can intersect. Like it was produced in a movie studio. Was it produced in movie studio? Then you hear of the confessions of Stanley Kubrick. Then after the confession they try to debunk it. Like they try to debunk what people said about 9/11. Trying to make you look stupid and even calling you stupid if you think the other way. Calling people names is one of their techniques. They don't want to debate a subject they say something like, "You are really stupid. This is beyond debate." They say that cause they know their truth is false and it will show up in a real debate so they must use the name calling technique.

I didn't know about how that occurred in the US election years 1824, 1876, and 1888. Now I'll have to go LOOK those years up, to see who got defeated.

Very interesting, thought-provoking #politics posting you made here. Yeah, I'd like to grasp a bit more about the #German election process DIFFERS from ours (here in the US).

Nice shot@OriginalWorks check this out.

Information is highly essential in the society because if you are not inform you will be deform. Politics is not a garrulous but an act of acrobatic jingoisim.

Thanks steemian @soldier for the Information.

great thinking.....

Β  Β· Β 7 years agoΒ

You ve said it all,the world we live in now has totally changed where the right thing to do been ignored just for some self reasons without considering what will benefit all...Thanks @soldier for sharing your opinion matters alot

I think in these times most people know not to take mainstream media with 100% accuration, but they still use it as their (only!) source of news, which is probably the biggest issue. As most of the media (alternative as well) are already prejudiced towards most subjects, and talk from their point of view. If you really want to be informed you need to check multiple sources.
