Freedom

in life •  3 years ago

I feel quite lonely right now. In the last days, months. And also years.
Since the last year, when I found out that it's better not to tell in public what I really think.
When I found out that it's better not to write in social networks what I really think.

I can say that I have never actually been surrounded by the right people to talk to freely. I almost always had to consider what I was saying. But because I didn't, it had consequences in my relationships with people.
You know how important it is in life to live with the right people. The ones you can talk to openly. When there's no need to hide your true opinion in front of them and who understand you very well. And it's even more valuable when they even share your opinion. So you don't have to hide your true nature before them, you don't have to remain silent.

I think that nowadays this thing will become more and more important and valuable. And it is good to look for these people right now. If we haven't found them yet. Those who are from our, your tribe.

It will become more and more important and valuable, because I see how with each passing day the freedom of speech is limited. People are encouraged to express the same "accepted" opinion. Any other opinion is cleverly limited, if possible concealed, or banned.

But the problem with this is that if you really shut up, the people who share your opinion will never find you. They will never know that there is someone out there who shares their thinking.

And I think that's exactly what's happening to me.
Yesterday I accidentally shared something on a social network. In principle, I don't do that anymore. I haven't shared anything there for a long time. But it turned out that after this sharing, people contacted me to talk, to exchange opinions and life experiences. Or just talk. The most typical human action. Which very purposefully begins to be taken away from us.
So now I know I'm not alone. This was very important to be understood. And I know that no one is alone here. There is always someone out there who shares your opinion. You may not even know him. (Did you know that the biggest surprises and help you can usually get from strangers? Not from friends, not from acquaintances, not from family, but from absolute strangers.)
So, let's keep our ability to communicate and share. And let's keep expressing our thoughts freely.

steem.jpgSoul's Detour is a project started by me years ago when I had a blog about historical and not so popular tourist destinations in Eastern Belgium, West Germany and Luxembourg. Nowadays, this blog no longer exists, but I'm still here - passionate about architecture, art and mysteries and eager to share my discoveries and point of view with you.

Personally, I am a sensitive soul with a strong sense of justice.
Traveling and photography are my greatest passions.
Sounds trivial to you?
No, it's not trivial. Because I still love to travel to small and not so famous destinations.🗺️
Of course, the current situation does not allow me to do this, but I still find a way to satisfy my hunger for knowledge, new places, beauty and art.
Sometimes you can find the most amazing things even in the backyard of your house.😊🧐🧭|

Well, your text touched me deeply because I, too, am a seeker of beauty and I find it daily, hourly and almost everywhere. One of my favourites are shadows: their complex forms create a dimension that is never stable but always interesting. Overlapping structures on a wall... enjoy them and talk about them! There are quite a number of people that do the same and both of you will be happy about this communication. Keep doing this good work!

Thank you very much for your kind words! ☺️
