Today is a day of national mourning for yesterday's bus crash with 45 burnt tourists.
And it is a pity that such a great tragedy had to happen to realize that it could not go on like this.
Personally, I have been terrified for some time when I have to travel by public transport somewhere. And every time I ask myself the question: What is the lesser evil? Where is the probability of an accident less?
The last time I had to travel a long distance, I chose a train. Not that there are no train accidents. On the contrary. Almost every day an accident happens on train tracks. But I figured that this long distance would be traveled by train faster and all, all this fear would end faster.
And you know what, I regretted the moment the train arrived at the station.
Old wagons - no, it wasn't the ones I show in the picture above. It's rather the one to the right in first picture.
A small, tall and narrow door for boarding each car, which is difficult to open and difficult to reach by narrow high stairs. It was almost impossible to get on the train if there was no one to bring my luggage inside instead of me.
God, I don't know what year this train was and what passengers it was made for...was it made for passengers at all...
The inside was a tragedy. Dirty glass, dirty curtains with dark spots, dirt everywhere. The toilet was in awful condition. And as the train accelerated, the wagon shook as if you were on a tractor seat. (Do you know how it shakes when you ride a tractor?)
Seriously, I had strong concerns that this train would not be able to reach its destination.
I didn't take pictures on the train then, because they would be very ugly. Instead, I took these four photos, which I show you here, when I finally got off (with great effort, but also relief) at the station.
It is very difficult to pretend to be European when you are not. And when you use second-hand trains, second-hand buses and travel on very poorly built roads. There is no way that accidents will not happen in this situation.

Soul's Detour is a project started by me years ago when I had a blog about historical and not so popular tourist destinations in Eastern Belgium, West Germany and Luxembourg. Nowadays, this blog no longer exists, but I'm still here - passionate about architecture, art and mysteries and eager to share my discoveries and point of view with you. |
Personally, I am a sensitive person with a strong sense of justice.
Traveling and photography are my greatest passions.
Sounds trivial to you?
No, it's not trivial. Because I still love to travel to small and not so famous destinations.🗺️
Of course, the current situation does not allow me to do this, but I still find a way to satisfy my hunger for knowledge, new places, beauty and art.
Sometimes you can find the most amazing things even in the backyard of your house.😊🧐🧭|
