Okay, @thedesertlynx , let me start by saying excellent post worth a tip!
Now, allow me in the next few lines to share a few of my own thoughts.
You never really know what people are going through
That’s right. People on the brink are some of the best masqueraders. Throughout the years I have spoken for hours with people ideating this choice. They are the ones who eventually walked through the darkness and continued in the fight called Life.
I personally believe everyone walking the earth in human form were booted out of heaven.
After all, in the beginning we were formed…Our highest purpose is to live life in a way that mimics God’s Only Begotten Son, in ways that help the greater good.
Your ability to open up and share is one such example of service.
people keep their struggles inside
not a soul knew about it.
Yes, and these are the masqueraders I speak of. They talk and they share life stories; but, never have the courage to be vulnerable with just putting it out there…what they’re going through.
And, before you know it, the holidays come and go with someone close to you making the personal decision to end life in human form.
how and when it's all going to be over.
I genuinely don’t think it’s really our choice to make. I could be wrong of course. In the Bible, a few people chose suicide. King Saul fell on his own sword to prevent the enemy from taking him alive.
There isn’t a Bible verse condemning those to hell for taking their own life. Though, thou shalt not kill, comes to mind as being one of God’s Commands. And, self-killing falls under that heading, wouldn’t you agree?
the meaning of life.
Ah, the elusive meaning of life. In simplest terms, it’s as I mentioned, serving others for the greater good.
how insignificant a single human life is in the grand scheme of the universe
ARE YOU SERIOUS? Well, actually you’re right. God says we’re but like a grain of sand…Can you imagine…a single grain of sand…And, too, we’re like a blade of grass, here today, gone tomorrow.
focus on this rather than everything they're doing wonderfully.
Yes, turning inward in false judging of self is like a dagger to the spirit.
every conversation with someone who just can't understand
Most people can’t understand their own life; so, don’t be too hard on the someones.
The universe and life are infinite, we aren't.
WE ARE ETERNAL BEINGS. Once we leave this physical form, we become spiritual energies. One of my favorite Bible verses: ABSENT FROM THE BODY, PRESENT WITH THE Lord. (2 Corinthians 5:8)
hardwired to deny and struggle against our inevitable end with all of our might, all of our resources, and all of our ingenuity.
Yes…resources…But, truth be told I believe we have an entry and exit time we enter human form. Some are here for just a few hours, as they die before the leave the hospital. Some teens have dropped dead of a heart attack. And, some are tasked with the daunting task of becoming centenarians. They are the real warriors, if you know what I mean. (Jeremiah 1:5)
decision, while confusing to most, still must be respected.
Absolutely, it’s not for anyone but God to judge. I’m with you on that one.
robs us of fulfilled living.
conning (or forcing) someone into spending precious moments of their life on something that isn't the maximizing of their human potential is no different from murdering them right on the spot.
Well sorta’. I agree I think it’s the worst thing a parent can do is make their children live the life they wish they would have. Perhaps, the greatest pushback in this regard is ‘rebellion’ and following the preordained spirit within.
ever dreamed of achieving and experiencing, is the real suicide we all fear.
Yes, sometimes people lack the courage to live their highest life out of fear. It’s no slight against them; more empathy. That’s why I end with this…
Life is tough; and, only the strong survive.
For the race is not given to the swift; but, to those who endure to the end. (Ecclesiastes 9:11)
Lastly, here's my take on why I don't believe suicide is the best option:
Chef Bourdain Reminder: Suicide is Never Best Solution
Peace.
Thanks very much!
I'll touch on the "do you have a right to" bit. Yes, you absolutely do, because you, and only you, have a right to control anything in your life to begin with, including all manner of choices that can indirectly end your life, such as taking health risks, going to war, etc. "Thou shalt not kill" is commonly used to refer to murder. It can't mean broadly, because the same God commanded war, execution, sometimes even genocide.
As for meaning in life, generally to make the most of it is fairly obvious, but the devil is in the details. Human existence is a diverse spectrum, and finding out exact, laser-focused meaning out of the infinite possibilities is no easy task. Meaninglessness is especially hard when you're told you're supposed to have meaning.

Apologies for the delay in reply @thedesertlynx...I know God gives us all free choice, so I guess in that regard you're right...HOWEVER...we still have to give account to Him for our actions....
But, after we whittle everything away, it all simmers down to the one singular fact:
If God allows a person to successfully exit stage left, then I guess this completion had to get His 'approval'...
As an example, we've all heard the story of the person who walked away from a car crash where the car is a pancake...or the person who jumps in front of a train and miraculously survives...
So, lastly @thedesertlynx I have to accept that there are some things beyond human understanding...and what happens is on some level one's destiny. It's not for anyone to cast judgment against...Only God knows the whole story; thus the why of things.
Btw, I looked at your intro post; and, you are one adventurous soul!
That's a great thing...50 hours on the road without a destination arrival plan is called living life! I pray to be more daring on so many levels...but...in comparison, call me 'slow lane'...lol...
Also, you are indeed a brainiac having finished college at a very out of the ordinary age...
Of course, I'd love to know if you still transact only in BTC, or have you rescinded to having a bank account?...Somehow, I sense you've made crypto life work...
I really enjoyed your take on the subject; and, sincerely pray that you will live in this earthly realm until God says 'time served'. Interestingly, in suicides, while the body may sleep, I think the soul has a purpose which has to be fulfilled. How that's done, I haven't a clue.
I think about the NT story of the rich man who begged that the poor man (Lazarus) be able to tell his brothers about Hell being a real place...(Luke 16:19-31).
Peace.
