We had that last year on a river in Ontario. But... A train derail. If your against pipeline have fun riding a bicycle. Start your own farm. Be self sufficient. Cut your own trees for heat with a handsaw. who needs an economy anyways. Until then you can't talk. Trucks and trains and ships all spill oil. Pipelines are way more regulated. If there were any highly unlikely leaks it is known. What about all the trains and truck. Those engines leak oil but it's unregulated. They also burn a lot more energy.

Oil spills from concentrated pipelines cause more damage to the sources of other natural resources in most cases. While planes, trains and automobiles are also culprits, pipeline and drill-site spills pose a greater risk to water sources and soil quality in the areas of the spill. Correct me if I am wrong. I agree, ride a bicycle or walk whenever you can, but I don't understand the disdain or disregard for the dangers on one aspect of the debate and the redirection to another aspect. Sounds like you are basically trying to shut up the opposition by drawing attention to another aspect of the issue. Why not tout them both, hand -in-hand.
