Past lives

I have often wondered if past lives are possible. Some people believe strongly in reincarnation. Not sure I believe in dying and coming back as something or someone else. However, I do know I have lived several times!

As I enter a new decade of my life, I pause to reflect on my past. How do I know I lived in the past? My memory tells me.

My memory does not go back as far as birth, but close. I remember being a child and almost everything during my childhood days. Living with my parents, playing with certain friends, the TV shows I watched. I even remember my first boyfriend at age 5. We would sit on the back doorsteps together and hold identical puppies.

Being the oldest of five children, I recall the birth of each sibling. Going to grade school, dating in high school and graduation are vivid memories. All the days of my youth I consider my first life.

The second life came shortly after high school. Marriage at 18 was a big step, but one I took. Another “what was I thinking” moment! I have had many during my life! Read about another in an earlier post.

My third life developed as a full time wife, mother and factory worker. Years of work, worry and fun times along the way. That life lasted for 15 years, except for the mother part. Once a mother, always a mother forever!

For about the next 35 years, life took place with a different husband, job, and state. I spent many years traveling the roads researching tax records and also taking care of a home and husband. This was my fourth life.

All that is over now and I am learning to live my fifth life, retired, being a grandmother, and doing what I want, when I want. Hard to get used to, but it gets easier as time goes by. I find lots to do most days and enjoy every day that I'm alive.

Hopefully, I will look back in years to come and see that a few more "past lives" have been added.

When you stop to think about it, we all live several times, so yes I do believe in past lives.
