Some of us assume, some of us believe, and only a few know.
Regardless of the topic, too many of us evaluate what we will accept as truth based on the source of information. We allow others to do all of the investigation and then we trust them rather than conducting our own independent verification. So we end up believing many things that aren't so.
There are many important issues which affect us all every day which are controversial, and the reason we see so much disagreement is that they are not black-and-white or easy to verify using only our senses.
But we can start by learning to ask the right questions. And we can also stop assigning credibility to people based on what uniform they are wearing, what degree they have earned, what religion they espouse, etc. Because none of these things indicate the heart and intentions or agenda of anyone.
So we have to take what everyone presents and then process it ourselves before deciding whether to accept or reject it.
It is a learning process, but we are all capable of doing it, of learning and succeeding at it.
I could go on and on, but for this post let me recap:

Verify for yourself.
You are capable of discovering the truth on practically any topic with practice, and you will be shocked at the number of established "facts" which are pure BS. More later,
