in some ways this is a little bit of a self reflective look at the follow of the follow culture of people that believe that followers equals engagement and the falsehoods around it, what i want to explore however is the bigger picture to come where we have data silos, open or otherwise that will day trade attention on a real time crypto marketplace
i’m getting around $70 at the end of the month from google adsense, not at lot i admit but it’s money that we (me and @dayleeo) did not really work on for the last few months. sites just ran away in the background, we didn’t add any more media and gradually over time it’s made enough to hit that monthly threshold we set. now, we could be all youtuber like and chase that follower game, view, comments and cosmetic lifestyle but we prefer to be both creators and consumers not just digital tourists that make out they invested the niche without any respect for the decade before working out the kinks with shit like codecs, realplayer and fucking flash. you kids don’t know how fucking good you have it.
ahem. sorry.
anyway, got me thinking on my pre bacon sandwich and coffee come down to equalisation that i’m getting paid from one cloud service, data allocated time periods of people seeing a bullshit ad from someone convinced on a Monday morning that advertising on google might bring BOB to the sandwich shop with a google listing on one of our websites. one mans trash is another mans gold eh? so we have funds coming in, funds that i’ll probably then spend all in another cloud of computing power like steem or whatever scraping the bottom of the barrel crypto people is getting hammered as the bitcoin death spiral continues.
it’s kinda interesting to me how we kinda moved the target a little to make these platforms go from centralised data silos of no access, to data silos of decentralised, open, sharing, spend gobs of public fake money on the idea of connecting them up to make some kind of social media banner graphic with infographic stats of information that still, fundamental does help the 99% but makes the 1% believe they have a grip on technology (you never did figure out how to set the clock on the vhs/betamax video recorder did you)
it seems we are now in the starting process of the realm of the advancement of the follow for a follow, we are in the epoc of the cloud for a cloud, where we swap our value with matrix style sentinels based on data and signals, candlesticks and data pirates living in a bond style boat in the harbour of hong kong. we are mid bladerunner and i have to say it’s all rather fucking exciting. the psy kids are out in force, collecting digital funds for the generator for the offshore, out of sight data farms crunching numbers next to hydro power villages. data guns for hire, crafting their own escape from new york style plot lines and taking on their own snake plissken ideology. it’s quite something to behold.
so yeah, pushing through supposed money i didn’t have, into a platform that owes me nothing to support people who don’t know me for a product i don’t know the lifespan of, in the hope that the rebel alliance can keep the guardians of the galaxy away from my door, virtual or otherwise.
i could of course convert that digital cloud money into fiat, get some resources and food stuffs but i kinda did that with my other cloud money from skillshare, that paid for real world connection (£25) for four great earth weeks of unmetered 4g connectivity to the unreal world of the digital card shufflers, moving blocks of data between systems in the pursuit of validation and progress. one cloud exists inside another, forever leading the human breadcrumbs of a society with sick tendencies and wolves in sheep clothing parading unabashed through the fibre highways of online life.
still. ..
anyone got a cloud for a cloud? KTHXBYE.
I take your cloud and raise you one nebula biza!
That's some fire right there boiii.
