How things are coming along on our build

in life •  7 years ago  (edited)

I am afraid to say this because you know how when everything is going too good and you brag about it, something will happen to throw a wrench into the gears, but seriously our build so far is going smoother than what I expected. The Health Department got back the septic tank design we have to install, we got a pretty good fixed rate on our loan, we are getting a tax break, just found out the insurance is gonna be $800 cheaper than estimated and the electric company is installing the pole for free since we will be with-in 200 feet from the road, as we want mainly back yard.

Everything is coming together nicely and I really hope it keeps coming together nicely because we really need to be in that house before this one sells and we have to be out. I am really excited that it looks like we found the people we need to hire to have in place. We will be hiring next week. Everything seems to be moving very fast and I guess it is, I mean who builds a house on an eight week deadline? I wish we had time to do everything the way we had planned. But I am starting to think the universe has other plans for us. Because seriously so far even though I am under pressure and stressed this has been easier than I thought it would be. A lot of paper work but it isn't hard or complicated at all. Why do people make it seem like it is more difficult than it really is? Cause I don't know.

When things get hard I will just have to keep this image in my mind

yes I took a photo of our land and then cut out the artist rendition of our house, and super imposed it on a photo of our land so I have something real to look at.

Stayed tuned for more updates on our house build.

Thanks for sharing...

Stay positive its all going to stay on track any hiccups will be minor ones :)

Yay! How exciting!

Great idea to take a pic of your land and add your house. Visualization is very important.

Here is a dragon: 🐲

Enjoy! (Lol...)

I think so too specially in those moments where it feels overwhelming. Because I have had small moments where it has felt that way but once I broke it down into smaller parts it became less frustrating and surprisingly easier then I thought it would be, and seeing this image keeps me motivated to keep the movement going at the pace it has been moving.

For sure. I find myself getting overwhelmed too. But then I break it down (I really like lists...) and feel much better. I also really like checking things off lists.

Sorry, I'm not upvoting today. I went overboard and am restraining myself the next two days to build back up to 100%. I know I can do it. 🙂

I'll come back and upvote you then. 💚

Been there done that and am that way myself right now

hahahh. I do not have jobs today, I can upvote you

Great job superimposing that image! That's how you visualize your goals. :)

thank you I am really proud over that cut out, cause it is hard to cut out images at least at first it is but I really do love how that turned out

@geemo-from-paris are you slipping and not visiting my blog regularly to see what is new? LOL glad to see you and the project originally was suppose to be another project with different materials and a longer build, but out landlords are selling the house we are renting so we don't have the 9 months to have the other house built. But this is way cheaper, and we are getting little larger floor plan with this home and it is a split floor plan which is much better too. I just hope it keeps going well we really need it to be done by November 1st for us to move in, we can push it a week or two maybe but not much more than that. So far so good and today the lender said they are working on an earlier closing date for us. Our construction and permanent loan only have one closing it converts once the project is done.

@tecnosgirl

It is good to see you active, and I understand life and not being as active I too am a little behind on what is going on with everyone's blogs

I'm sure not everyone was able to get through it
It took patience just like you This is great inspiration.
thank you @tecnosgirl

Great to see an other house construction blog starting! Good luck!

I figure if I blog about it I won't go crazy over the stress from it. LOL

Nice photoshop job. Makes me think of playing The Sims.

Eight weeks is a super-tight timeframe. Glad it's going well so far.

Are you having a foundation put in or is it going on a concrete slab?

It is going on a crawl space and it is a super tight deadline, but our other choices is to sign a lease and pay $1200 pet deposit on top of the high deposit and rent the only place we could find that would rent to use with all of our dogs. Since we were planning on building anyways we adjusted the plan.
Originally we planned on staying here till our house was built and was gonna do a modular built but it takes 6-9 months to complete. Since we don't have that time frame because our landlords have decided to sell the house we are in, we have decided to go with a double wide manufactured home which we plan to live in for 5 years them start our modular build and sell the double wide back to the company as the same company will be doing both of the builds and there is a high demand for used manufactured homes apparently. When we get to that point as least all the site work will be already in place, but we may decide we don't like debt and decide to just live in the manufactured home till we die, we will see.

That's cool that they could buy it back from you.

This sounds like a great plan - see how you like the smaller house and then decide whether it's worth sacrificing some financial freedom for more space.
