Living on the edge, or how my phone's battery lasted exactly until the front of the hotel

in life •  6 years ago

I had a very short night the previous one. I arrived in London around 9ish but it took me about 2 hours to get from Heathrow airport until home. I rushed to repack my bag for another 40 min so I went to bed at midnight.

At 4.35am my lovely day had started with the sudden news that I am kind of late :) I did rushed into uber to catch the train from Blackfriars, only running in the last 30 seconds. Mohammed, the uber driver was my morning hero as he was able to somehow deliver me exact at the right time.

Paris was raining and I had no umbrella :) Well until I managed to get by the security gates the rain decided to had a break to save my day again. My meeting went smoothly, after a bit of adventure, I was able to be on time again. I did started to make fun of my schedule.

I am now in my hotel, after I have rented a car in the train station to deliver me at the hotel close to airport. This will be my home for the next 4 nights. Now the last funny story about how I get to the hotel. My car is the automated version and I haven't drived this type for maybe 10 years :)) After I managed to get out from the parking I realized that I had 15% battery on my phone and about 25 km until my new home. Well, when you use the GPS, the battery drains out quite fast, so from the beginning I was afraid I will be out of it in the middle of the motorway and then I will be usually lost :)) I was trying to handle both the fear or the odd car with the fact that my mind was in panic mood because of the phone drainage. At 3% I was out of the motorway towards the airport and I was able to slowly breath. Luckily the hotel was first on the right and in the moment I reached the parking its duty was over, not a second to late. So it collapsed and I had a crazy person laugh alone in the car, at a late evening.

So thank you Universe to have such a good care of completely clumsy people like me. We do rock together :))

100% hugs,
Teodora
