I love being home.
It's not anything about the specific apartment I'm currently in, I just enjoy being in my nest. I work really hard to spend too much of my money just for a roof over my head, I want to keep my head under it.
I want to buy a small piece of land and a shotgun, build a fence around my land, and never leave it...
I'm the type of person who would be just fine living the rest of my life in seclusion. I'd grow or raise my food, and anything I couldn't make myself, I'd have delivered via drone... No need to speak with a delivery guy in this day and age, just grab my shit from the drone and send it on it's way.
I don't like society, haven't for over a decade. There's just too much expected from someone who lives in close proximity. I don't need to fuck with anyone, and I don't want them fucking with me. I'm a "GET OFF MY LAWN" kinda 30 year old...
I truly believe the only thing keeping me from this dream is the money to start. Land doesn't come cheap, and I already have a serious lack of funds going on... This is were Steemit can hopefully help out, provided all these damned spammers and thieves don't ruin it for everyone...
I plan to build my account value to over $100,000 before powering down. Said power down should give me enough to purchase a small parcel of land, and begin building a permanent nest in the woods. I'd of course continue blogging, but would likely switch gears to a focus on homesteading.
My sons could grow up learning the meaning of working for what they have, and would hopefully gain a healthy respect for nature.
I want SO badly to leave the "city life" behind, and become a self-sufficient homesteader

Sounds like a good life to me. But you're right land aint cheap. I'm good at keeping myself company i don't mind keeping my head under the roof that I'm literally paying to keep over my head. It would be nice not to live so close to neighbors too

@thatsweeneyguy I thought about this post a couple hours ago when i had to call a noise complaint on an extremely loud party..... that was actually a couple streets over from mine. Like really? I would have more enjoyed sneaking over there like a ninja and cutting their electrical cords

I would hope blogging about being a homesteader would be rather rewarding. It would be a rather long project where you could share your own success and hardships learning and living that kind of lifestyle. A good way even to help fund the future projects.
Some people do dig their own plumbing systems and build their own house and anything else they need. The idea has always looked interesting. Would centrally be a way to try and live a debt free life. No expensive mortgage/rent and being surrounded by things you have hand built.

yeah hopefully there are some changes coming for steemit soon. Things are moving too slow on the development side right now. If development can get it together and start getting something done, it certainly has a chance, though.
