FOODS TO AVOID IF SUFFERERING FROM HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE
High blood pressure is known as ‘the silent killer’. Unfortunately, there is no cure for it, but can effectively keep it under control. If someone diagnosed with high BP, say no to these foods in your diet.
Salty food: Salt is an essential ingredient that makes food yummy. However, it is a real villain if you have high BP.
You should control intake of salty foods and limit the sodium content in the food.
Fast foods: Fast foods are mostly fatty foods. It is strictly not advised for people with high BP. Someone need to avoid fast foods like French fries, bacon, instant soups etc. which contain high amount of fat.
Pickles: Salt is essential to preserve food items. Hence pickles have a high amount of salt, which means it is rich in sodium content. Do not give space to pickles in the plate.
Papad: The crispy Papad are generally rich in sodium content. Avoid papad from the plate to keep blood pressure level normal.
Milk products: Milk is a nutritious drink and it is rich in fat content. Say no to milk and milk products as it contains saturated fat. Remember that BP levels may shoot up with dairy products.
Sugared drinks: Say not to sugar as well! It increases the calorie intake which leads to obesity and weight gain. Obesity increases the risk of high blood pressure.
Alcohol: If diagonised with high BP, do not drink alcoholic beverages. Consuming alcohol will shoot up the blood pressure and create long-term health issues.
