Hello my dear Steemians,
How are you? Hope you all are doing well.
Since the steemit platform was originally built with good intentions such as
1- Increasing social interactions
2- Share quality contents and information
3- Support creativity in writing, art, photography, hence, the term "Mining with our minds"
4- Sharing the reward pool, more or less, equally, or maybe I should use the word "actively", to prevent accumulation of rewards in certain accounts which will lead to stagnation in the transactions, decrease in steem value and eventually loss of steemit to better platforms.
Unfortunately, it seems that many people are content to have the rewards accumulated around them and their friends, as long as it circulates back and fourth between the same people.
This problem is mainly affecting the new steemit members, especially those who joined without prior knowledge of the social rules, blogging, cryptocurrency or those who had false expectations from steemit obtained through "inaccurate" advertisement.
~ I am not sure where the term "Mining with our minds" came from originally. It may have been @ned, the co-founder of steemit (if I am not wrong). Please feel free to correct me if you have the accurate info.
Anyhow, I was thinking that instead of complaining how unfair steemit is currently, which believe me I did for about whole month, I will try to do something about it with my own little efforts. If you are interested to help steemit, You are welcome to follow my steps or make your own
What are these efforts?
1- I started an SBD share which I post every week. If you don't know about it, please check Here and please don't forget to follow the rules.
I have to mention that, without the current help of @tumutanzi and @nikez452 and previous help of @bullionstackers, who have been supporting the reward pool through their generous donations, the SBD rewards shared would have been very meager.
2- I am going to start a curation attempt. This attempt will be reserved mostly to valuable posts from my followers and steemians I follow, with some occasional new posts that I may stumble upon on Hot, Trending or Promoted tabs.
I have been thinking of a way to give my followers (especially the loyal ones) a thank you by visiting them and checking/upvoting their posts, like they do with mine. Moreover, by checking accounts from people I follow, and others from steemit tabs, I think I will be able to cover a decent part of steemians and will be sharing my tiny votes (hence, circulating rewards) with different people, not only my friends per se.
I have been reading about curation and trying to understand it but, I must admit, I am not sure if I completely understood everything. However, this what I am thinking to do from now on depending on my simple understanding and the time I have that I can spend on steemit
- I will be visiting around 5-10 people (following or followers) everyday, in an Alphabetical order.
- Check their latest posts
- Upvote at least one post per person (mainly using 10-20%% voting power, so please don't feel undervalued). It is important that I preserve as much as possible of my SP to give to more people.
- Comment on all posts I upvote.
- For transparency purposes and as a reminder to myself, I will post the names of those I visited everyday. This way I can be sure not to forget anyone and also for you to know that your turn will eventually come and prepare a great post to share. You can check my followers or following for that if you want.
- If I like the post and find that it has great value to share, I will write a synopses about it (and hope it will gain more visits and votes). This will be the curation part I guess
Note that, if each one of us did something similar, a lot of good value posts will be seen and will gain more votes. ALso, people will work more to make their posts better and informative. Its a win-win situation

Hi @theleapingkoala,
I've been keeping an eye on you since we spoke in MSP chat, and sending some voters your way. I like curation projects, I think they're helpful to the featured authors. JerryBanfield does one called Upvotable, you might want to look it up. I hope you keep it up.
Having said that, I can't resist the urge to be a minor fly in the ointment here. So, with love, I'll point out a glaring inconsistency in your post:
" it seems that many people are content to have the rewards accumulated around them and their friends, as long as it circulates back and fourth between the same people."
...is also member of TeamCanada and using TeamCanada banner, which like every other "TeamXCountry", is a group of Steemit "people (who) are content to have the rewards accumulated around them and their friends, as long as it circulates back and fourth between the same people (from the same country)" and who, generally, favor via over-reward those from their selected group while under-rewarding others*.
;)
Have a good one!
*Not explicitly passing judgment on this, btw. We all get to reward whoever we like.

My dear @lexiconical,
Many thanks for visiting, upvoting and for the referrals you have been sending. It is nice to find that there are people who support me from behind the scenes. It makes me feel really good. Many thanks for your support and for the comment.
I find your comment very interesting and eye opening since it didnt cross my mind that I was contradicting myself by using the team Canada banner.
In all honesty, I have not yet made friends in the team Canada, nor on discord in general. I used the banner because of my love to Canada (as my new country) and my desire to say I am Canadian.
Rest assured that I haven't taken your comment as judgment at all. It was a very different perspective that I never thought of.
I honestly wish that Teams dont exist. We should all be team steemit. But, of course, having friends, caring about them and making a team with them is eventually going to be the theme of steemit.
When we are neglected, the only way we have is to support each other. However, I will try not to keep money between me and my friends (whomever they will be). I hope to share the wealth and happiness with everyone.
Many thanks for suggesting Jerrybanfield and upvotable. I have checked them few times. Will keep an eye on it and recommend some of the people I review.
Thank you very much again for your caring and support. If it makes people happier and more welcome to my page, then I will stop using Team Canada banner, since I really care about all steemians :)

"I honestly wish that Teams dont exist."
I feel the same way. However, I know this is an unpopular position. If I suggested it, even with rock-solid logic, I would simply be attacked.
This is normal. Humans are tribal. We favor each other for emotional or xenophobic reasons.
I actually delegate SP to almost every MSP bot. One of them is Centerlink, which won't ever vote on me, because I'm not Australian. It's a nationalist bot. Not exactly racist, but it feels like it's in the neighborhood. Yet, creating it and donating to it is seen as charity. Tribalism isn't just a real thing, it's wholesale encouraged by large groups of people. There's no way to change it, so it's fine to simply embrace it.
I just like to remind everyone to keep a larger perspective. I'm annoying that way.
"I hope to share the wealth and happiness with everyone."
I believe it. I'm just being a pain in the butt.
"then I will stop using Team Canada banner, since I really care about all steemians :)"
I wasn't suggesting you need to do this, although I personally don't like the borders-based teams. It's totally up to you.

Why 'A' patriot wargamer?
I am still not sure what curation exactly is, either. But I will still call the reviews I will do as curation. LOL
Thanks for the comment and upvote :)
